Chapter 13: Execution

After I changed into my uniform, my boss ordered me around as usual.

I still couldn't get over from his weird behaviour from earlier though..

I continued to serve customers' orders
until it was around 6:58 PM.

2 minutes before 7 o'clock.

That's the time I have to be there.

I went over to the staff room to change, my boss Ethan was standing outside.

"You're leaving now?" He asked me as if not wanting me to leave yet.

"Yes sir." I replied before walking off.

A hand pulled back my arm, preventing me from going further.

"I can drive you there." My boss volunteered.

"There is no need. Plus sir, aren't you busy? There are still many customers." I told him off before continuing to leave.

"Alright then." He silently and begrudgingly walked back to the kitchen.
The cold tone of his voice returning once more.

I ignored it and left the restaurant in a hurry.

I must head to the library just in time.

I can walk but that would be a little too long and tiring.

I'll ride a transportation vehicle instead.

I called a taxi and asked to be driven to the library.

The driver, a man seemingly around his 30s, looked at me from the driver's seat.

"I think the library closes at 7 PM, ma'am." Said the driver.

"I know sir." I politely told him.

The driver nodded before continuing to drive.

A moment later and we finally reached my destination.

I paid the driver and left the taxi. The library's lights were still on indicating someone was still there.

I felt a pang of nervousness and anxiety.

I wanted to run away and turn back as soon as possible.

I thought that maybe Ashton's still inside with that girl.

I gritted my teeth in disgust and anger at the thought.

My body shook, about to explode in rage.

There's no turning back now.

My phone rang at the same time. I rummaged my bag for it and found it ringing.

Cassius was calling me. It seems that the plan was now in execution.

"Are you there now?" Cassius asked me through the other end of the line.

"Yeah. I'll be heading inside." I approached the doorway of the library. I gulped down in tension, putting my hand at the doorknob.

"Good. I'm already outside. Just distract Ashton." Cassius reminded me before ending the call.

Before opening the door, I looked behind me and saw no one.

Indicating that Cassius is probably at the back or is possibly sneaking around a different side.

I took a deep breath before gently opening the wooden door.

It creaked gently as I opened it.

I expected to see Ashton but there was no one there.

From a distance I could hear muffled voices.
It seemed to be coming from behind a bookshelf.
