Whelving Warmth
Chapter 01

"Ms. Esquivel, pinapasabi po ng daddy niyo magready raw po kayo. Isasama niya raw po kayo sa meeting at two pm"

I just nodded at Gracie, my father's secretary, since I'm still busy with the paper works that my father gave me.

This is how I spend Saturdays in my life ever since I entered college.

Every Saturday, I joined him in the office to be familiar sa pasikot-sikot ng kompanya. He would allow me to observe during meetings and conferences. Sa proposals naman, he would ask me to review it and he'll ask about my thoughts on our way home. Minsan, he will ask me to visit and inspect some of our resorts and hotel.

Kapag Monday to Friday naman, nasa university ako.

I'm on my junior year in Ateneo de Manila University, taking up BS Management Engineering.

Kakasimula lang ng academic year namin.

For me, medyo maluwag naman yung sched ko kaya maisisingit ko pa gumawa ng paperworks para sa company. Minsan pinapatawag ako ni daddy after dismissal kapag gusto niya kong isama sa pagkausap sa clients.

He is serious in molding me to be the successor of the company. And I'm fine with that. Ako naman talaga ang magmamana ng kumpanya.

Besides, I have no other things to do. Wala naman akong ibang pinagkakaabalahan.

I glanced at the clock in my office. May fifteen minutes pa ko before the meeting, I can still finish this paper.

My father gave me a small office in this company kahit hindi pa ko official na nagtrarabaho dito.

Five minutes before the meeting, I was able to finished the document. Nag retouch lang ako saglit then I proceed to my father's office.

"What would be the meeting about?" sabi ko sa kanya as soon as I enter.

"Report about the construction in Pasay," tipid niyang sabi habang may binabasa.

Umupo lang ako muna sa sofa seat hanggang kumatok na si Gracie to remind us that it's time for the meeting.

The meeting hall is above the floor we are in kaya nag-elevator kami.

I was following my father at his back when be suddenly stopped and talked, "I remembered, your fiancee would be with us"

Natigilan naman ako.

Two weeks na ng huli ko siyang nakita. I saw him in the mall when I was having my dinner, he's with Ysabelle, his girlfriend. Si Ysa pa nga yung bumati sa akin. She invited me to join them but I rejected.

I know that Ash would like it more if he can spend alone time with his girlfriend.

When we entered the meeting hall, kumpleto na ang tao. I saw Ashton with their company staffs. Agad siyang umiwas ng tingin when nang magtama ang tingin namin. Umupo ako sa tabi ni Daddy.

The meeting went on.

Nag-update lang naman sa construction yung Head Engineer ng company nila Ash. Patapos na yung construction. Hopefully, next month we can visit the site na before opening it to the public.

Nang matapos ang meeting, isa isa nang naglabasan ang mga tao.

I was waiting for my father kasi kausap niya pa si Ashton.

Maya-maya ay bumaling siya sa akin, "Sadie you can go home. May aayusin lang ako sa office tapos susunod na rin ako. You can have a date with Ash if you want, just go home before 11"
