20. a. Prenatal Class

Vernon 💙

Vernon and I are heading to our very first prenatal class tonight as the church hall. We are excited but also a bit nervous as we don't know what to expect. We do know we will be learning a lot about babies and how to care for them. We are on our way now from home. Vernon is driving and I'm in the passenger seat. "We are almost there" he said. "Yes we are. Are you looking forward to our first prenatal class, Hansol?" I say. "Yes I am. It will be cool as I'm not super confident with babies atm but I will be when our boy is here" he said. Soon we pull up at the church hall and get out of the car. We go in and take a seat with the other couples before the class starts. Looks like Vernon and I are the youngest here. The midwife who runs the class walks in. Her name is Eunice. "Hello and welcome everyone to your first prenatal class" she said. We all had to introduce ourselves. "Hi, I'm Y/ N and this is my boyfriend Vernon and we are having a baby boy who is due in 10 weeks time" I say. "Yes we are" he smiles. Eunice starts by talking a bit about herself and then starts talking about babies. The first class was just an introduction class but it was helpful and useful to find out more. We will learn more next time but I definitely think we made the right decision going

Joshua 💜

Joshua and I have been going to prenatal classes for the last month in California. Tonight will be our last one as we are going back to Seoul next week to get ready for the arrival of our baby girl in the next 8 weeks. Can't wait to be parents to our little princess. Joshua and I are at our last prenatal class now. We've told everybody that we are going back to Seoul next week and they will sad to see us go. It's the last class tonight out of a months course. Joshua and I are sat together listening to what the two ladies who run the class have to say. "So it's Y/ N and Joshua's last week in California before they go back to Seoul. We will be sad to see you go" said one of the ladies Lindsay. "I know it's been great but we will keep in touch" I reply. "It has" Joshua smiles. "We've put together a little going away present for both of you and your little girl" said the other lady Monica. "Awe that's so sweet of you. You really shouldn't have" I said. They present us with a beautifully arranged gift basket with lots of things for our little girl in. We look at everything and it was so nice of everything. "Thank you so much. This is ever so kind of you" I say. "You're very welcome. Good luck" Lindsay said. We really enjoyed our last prenatal class. We'll be sad to leave but we are looking forward to getting back to Seoul and getting ready for the birth of our daughter

Jihoon ❤️

Jihoon and I have just had to our third prenatal class. It was good. We learnt tips on putting a baby to sleep. We wrote down the notes too as a need to know them for future references. Good tips for when we put our baby girl to bed. We are in the car now and we are going to pick up the stroller and crib that we saw at the store last week. "We learnt a lot tonight. Don't you think, babe?" Jihoon said. "Yes we did" I smile. "Can't wait to get our little girls crib and stroller" he said. "I know. We are nearly there now" I say. We arrive at the store and park up. We go inside and they already had the crib and stroller ready for us. "Thank you" we say as we walk out. "No problem" the lady said. Me and Jihoon wheel the flat packs out to the car and then lift them into the car. "Are you okay, sweetie? I don't want you hurting yourself or our girl" he said. "Yes I'm fine thanks" I say. Jihoon lifted the crib in by himself and I assisted him with the stroller flat pack. "Done. Think they only just fitted in" he said. "Yep" I reply. We get in the car and go home. We enjoyed our third prenatal class tonight and we picked up our baby girls crib and stroller. We will look at them another day when we get the nursery ready

Seungkwan 💖

Seungkwan and I are at our first prenatal class this evening. We decided to join as it's something you need to go to when you are having your first baby. The first class is yoga based and I love yoga as it's helps to relax you. I used to go years ago with my mom and it's always been beneficial. Seungkwan and I will definitely be practicing this at home before the baby comes. We are doing yoga right now. It's a couples yoga class of course. I'm finding the breathing exercises really helpful and soothing. "Is it helping, sweetie?" Seungkwan said. "Yes very much. A whole lot" I reply. The class continues with more yoga tips. We even got to use the exercise balls which was fun. I say on the exercise ball and Seungkwan stood beside me. "Are you okay there?" he asks. "Yes I am" I reply. I balance on the exercise ball and followed the instructions. After prenatal class we go home feeling happy that we learnt some useful new tips. "You'll have to get me an exercise ball and yoga matt now" I say. "Yes I will. I'll look and I'll get you one, my love" Seungkwan said. "Thanks, Kwan. You're the best husband in the world" I smile. We go home and Seungkwan looks at yoga matts and exercises balls for me and orders so I can practice at home. Can't wait to continue those before I give birth

Jeonghan 🧡

Jeonghan and I have decided to sign up to prenatal classes. We have our first one tonight and we are looking forward to going. We realise that we have a lot to learn before our babies come into the world so we are looking forward to prenatal classes for the next few weeks. We are leaving our place now and on our way to our first class. "You ready, babe?" Jeonghan asks. "Yes just a moment" I reply. We leave a minute later and drive to our first prenatal class. We arrive soon and walk in holding hands. We take a seat with the other couples. It starts a few minutes later and was introduced by a nice lady. "Okay so we are going to play a little game. We are going to go around the circle and you're going to say one thing you know about being a good parents" she said. Jeonghan and I were in the middle. "One thing I know about being a good parent is being there for your children and telling them you love them" he said. "Yes I agree and also keeping them safe and reassuring them" I smile. So we did that and then she talked about some more things to do with babies, labor, delivery etc. Our first prenatal class was really good. We enjoyed it and are looking forward to the others

His POV

Y/ N and I have decided it would be good and useful to go to prenatal classes before the twins are born so we can learn more about babies as we are first time parents. I'm not confident enough to be a dad yet but I will be when I've been to these classes. We both will. We are on our way to our first one now. Y/ N is driving and I'm in the passenger seat. "We are almost there" I say. "Yes we are" she replies. We arrive at the place a few minutes later and park up. We get out and walk in. "I'll drive on the way home" I says. "Okay if you don't mind" Y/ N said. Anyway we go in and take a seat. We felt a bit awkward sitting there with people. They were older than us. Maybe there was another couple who were in their twenties like us. The class starts with an introduction from the coordinator. She introduces herself and we introduce ourselves too. There then was a pretension on babies etc so we sat and watched that. Y/ N took some notes on her phone that she needed to remember. I told her not to take too much. At the end of the presentation we could ask questions. I wanted to ask some. "Will Y/ N be likely having a c section. She's having twins" I asks. "Maybe. It depends on when the doctor wants to deliver them. All women who are having twins are different" the lady said. "Will I be able to have an epidural if I have a natural birth?" Y/ N said. "Yes it's usually recommend if you're having twins to have an epidural" she said. Our burning questions were answered. Our first prenatal class was good and we will look forward to the next

Seokmin 💚

Seokmin and I are going to our third prenatal class tonight. We are enjoying the classes and are learning new things and meeting nice new people. In tonight's class we will be learning how to swaddle a baby. Something we needed to know when our little girl comes into the world. We've just arrived and we park up and walk in. We take a seat with everyone else and wait for the class to start. The lady who runs it starts explaining how to swaddle a baby before giving us a baby doll and a blanket to swaddle. We remembered the steps and did it ourselves. It was easy and didn't take us long. I had a go and then Seokmin had a go. "Look. A baby burrito" he said. "Don't call it a baby burrito. I would kill you if you ever referred to our daughter as that" I reply. "No I will never do that. I was only joking" he said. "I know, Seokminie" I reply. We have another go at swaddling till the class continues with more explanations. In the next class we will be learning how to bathe a baby which will be fun next week. It was easy swaddling a baby or will it be when our own comes along

A/ N: I always get writers block with this part. A little this time. Haha. Hopefully that won't happen with the next part
