9. a. First Scan

I have my first baby scan today so Vernon and I are going to the hospital. We are really looking forward to seeing our baby for the first time. We can't wait to. Such a special and exciting time for the both of us. We have just left Vernon's apartment and we are on our way to the hospital now. We are moving in together soon too. "I don't really know what to expect today" Vernon said. "We will be seeing our baby for the first time, Hansol" I reply. "Yeah I know. I guess we'll learn a lot today" he said. Soon we arrive at the hospital and I check in and we take a seat in the waiting area. "Exciting. Eh" Vernon said. "Yes it is" I smile. Not long after I get called in for my scan. The midwife greeted us and I lay on the bed and I roll up my top. She squirts the jelly stuff on my tummy. "That stuff is kinda weird" Vernon said. I laugh. The lady starts examining me and Vernon and I look at the screen intently. We hear the baby's heartbeat and it sounds strong. "Your baby looks very healthy and he or she has a very strong heartbeat as you can tell" she said. "That's great. We are so happy" I reply. "Yes it is. Will we know the gender yet?" Vernon asks. "No not yet. Babies don't start presenting their genitals till 16 to 20 weeks in the pregnancy so you'll be able to find out at your next scan" she says. The midwife examines for a few more minutes till the scan was done. "Wow! Our kid has a strong heartbeat" Vernon said as we were leaving. "Yep they do" I reply. My first scan was great this afternoon. We are very happy our baby is healthy and has a strong heartbeat

Joshua 💜

Me and Joshua have my first scan this morning and we can't wait to our little one for the first time. We have wanted a baby for so long and it's finally happening now and we couldn't be happier. Children are the greatest gift from God. We are in the waiting room at the maternity centre waiting for me to be called in. "Jagiya, I'm so excited to see our little bean for the first time soon" Joshua said. "Me too. Not long now and hopefully everything will be okay with him or her" I say. The doctor calls us in a few minutes later "Mrs Hong, would you like to come this way please" he said. "Of course. Nice to meet you, doctor" I reply. "Nice to meet you both. I'm Dr Yang" he said. We go into the room and I get in the bed and he starts examining me. Joshua sits next to me and holds my hand and keeps on smiling at me. "That's our little bean" he says looking at the screen. "It is. Baby Hong" I reply. "How are things with the baby, Dr Yang?" Joshua asks. "Looking very good so far I can tell" Dr Yang replies. "Look so cute, babe" Joshua said. "So cute. I think they are going to be like their daddy" I reply. "Or like their mommy" he said. Dr Yang examines me for a few more minutes before finishing the scan. "Really nice meeting you both today, Mr and Mrs Hong. You can book your next scan for another 6-7 weeks time on your way out" Dr Yang said. "Thank you. We will. Bye" I reply. He shakes our hands again when we leave. The scan went great this afternoon. Our baby is doing very well and that's what matters the most to us

His POV

Y/ N has her first scan this morning and obviously I'm going with her. We can't wait to see our little pocket rocket baby for the first time today. We hope the first scan will go great. We will get a printout of the ultrasound on our way out if we can. I am driving and we are on our way to the hospital now. Hopefully we won't be late for Y/ N's first scan. "So we will get to see little peanut soon" I say. "Yes we will. Our little pocket rocket baby as you all them" I reply. "Yeah haha. That's my pet name for him or her. And also peanut too" I reply. We park up and arrive and Y/ N checks in before waiting in the waiting room to be called in. I gently place my hand on her tiny bump. She's not showing yet. "Jihoon" she said. "What can't I place my hand on my pregnant wife's tummy" I say. "No of the you can" she laughs. We get called in a few minutes later and the midwife greets us and starts examining Y/ N by putting that jelly stuff on her. I sit close to her and hold her hand. "Awwww that's our little peanut there" I say. "It is. Hello, baby" Y/ N said. "Awwww look at them. Small just like daddy" I say. "Well they are not fully grown yet. Not for a while" she replies. "Everything looks pretty good you'll be pleased to know" the midwife said. "Brilliant. We will be able to find out the gender next time" Y/ N said. "Ohhh yeah I wanna know if my baby is a boy or a girl" I reply. "I know you do" she smiles. On our way out we go printouts of our baby as a keepsake. We will have to compile a photo album throughout the pregnancy and after. Y/ N and I were so happy with the scan today
