The One With The Participants

Emily honestly felt completely blind from the fact that she didn't even know where she was right now. Hell, she could be out of Mystic Falls AND Virginia for all she knew. The Gilbert girl hated feeling this way and she was also curious, so Emily quickly jogged up to catch up with Greta's fast paced walking through the dark forest that she hadn't even noticed that was surrounding the fancy brick house before she questioned, "where are we going?"

Greta, unluckily for the Gilbert girl who was starting to regret not working out more, didn't slow down her fast walking as she practically jogged through the deep forest. However, luckily for Emily, though, the feared hybrid's witch did answer her question this time. It wasn't the answer Emily wanted as Greta simply mumbled, "this way."

The Gilbert girl couldn't help but immediately roll her green eyes at Greta's short answer before she sarcastically muttered as she tossed her hands in the air, "oh, that explains it all." Emily was honestly tired of the witch, who was a few steps in front of her. Greta had been no help all night. She would just give Emily these short and unhelpful answers that would always cause for Emily to roll her eyes or huff at the witch in annoyance.

Greta, for the first time since she told the doppelganger that it was time to go, glanced back to the Gilbert girl with a raise of her right eyebrow. "Where do you think we're going?" Greta questioned in amusement before she faced forward again and continued her fast paced walking. The witch stayed silent for about another three minutes before she simply uttered after she got tired of hearing the doppelganger huffing and puffing in annoyance, "we're going to the sacrifice."

"I know that!" The Gilbert girl practically and irritatingly screeched. Emily pointed around them as she corrected herself, "I mean the location." The human Petrova doppelganger glanced around the forest with her brows pulled together before she mumbled, mostly to herself, "where the hell are we?" Emily honestly thought she had known every single spot in Mystic Falls but apparently, she did not - if they were, in fact, in Mystic Falls.

"Steven's Quarry," Greta finally answered the human Petrova doppelganger's most wanted question in that same bored and monotone voice that she had been using since she was asked to babysit the Gilbert girl.

"Huh," Emily mumbled, mostly to herself, in disbelief as she realized that they were on the whole other side of Mystic Falls. "No wonder I don-" the Gilbert girl had began to utter the reason as to why she didn't recognize anything around her but before she could even complete her sentence, Emily found herself letting out a loud yelp as she felt her body suddenly fall down to her knees.

The Gilbert girl released a throaty groan as she felt her knees dig into the rough ground - despite her leggings covering her skin - and her fingers gripping around the crispy fall leaves that surrounded the whole forest. "Do you not have a flashlight on you?" Emily annoyingly questioned the witch once she had finally pushed her sore body back onto her feet with another loud groan escaping from her lips.

Greta couldn't help but smirk to herself as she enjoyed the pain that the doppelganger had felt after she had to endure all of the human girl's questioning and loud pacing for hours. The witch, however, did put Emily out of her misery after a few more minutes of walking through the forest once they finally reached the clearing. "All you had to do was ask," Greta teasingly uttered before she suddenly lit up the area with fire guiding them further into the quarry with just the soft movement of her point and middle fingers.

"Finally!" Emily huffed out once she could see her hands in front of her along with the big clearing in front of them. The Gilbert girl, who was happy that she could see again, silently followed after Greta without anymore complaints. However, that all soon ended when Emily noticed that there was two people here as well.

Please, don't be Tyler or Caroline. Please, don't be Tyler or Caroline, Emily pleadingly chanted in her head as she tried to see who the other people at Steven's Quarry were. The Gilbert girl cautiously took a few steps towards the two bodies before she instantly released a sigh of relief. Oh, thank God, Emily mentally swore as she realized that Tyler was nowhere in sight. Instead, Emily noticed the dirty blonde woman who was in Tyler's pack of wolves.

Emily honestly couldn't find it in herself to feel bad for the werewolf, or Jules, when she was the reason why Rose was dead and ultimately the reason for her best friend leaving Mystic Falls.

The Gilbert girl felt herself finally relax from knowing that Damon and Alaric had, in fact, saved Tyler and Caroline in time just like he had promised. Emily was now more curious as to who was the vampire for the sacrifice if it isn't Caroline. The other person was a little further away than Jules was, so she took slow and cautious steps towards the vampire before Emily's green eyes widened in complete shock when she saw that the vampire was someone so dear to her.

Emily didn't think twice before running at full speed towards the vampire with tears dripping down her reddened and warm cheeks. The Gilbert girl didn't even say anything once she reached the vampire. Instead, she pulled the vampire into the tightest hug that she could offer with her human body. "W-What the hell happened? Why are you here right now?" Emily hurriedly questioned once she had pulled away from her scared embrace and gripped the vampire's cold face between her shaking fingers. The Gilbert girl shook her head with angry and sad tears freely trailing down her face before she shouted with nothing but fear in her voice, "y-you shouldn't be here! This wasn't supposed to happen!"

The young vampire placed her hand onto the human Petrova doppelganger's right cheek with a soft but sad smile playing across her lips with her own tears pouring down the side of her face. The vampire placed a gentle kiss onto Emily's forehead as she absorbed that comfort that she always felt with the human girl before she confessed, "Klaus turned Jenna into a vampire."

The supernatural being watched the shocked and terrified expression on the Gilbert girl's face for a moment as she comfortingly grabbed onto Emily's hand as to center her so she wouldn't go into shock like she knew Emily would. The vampire gave the human girl a moment before she stated with zero regret in her voice, "it was either me or Jenna and I couldn't let Jenna go through this when her new life was barely beginning."

Emily hurriedly shook her head while she continued to sob as she just couldn't accept the way things were going when they had the perfect plan. "I-It wasn't supposed to be you," the Gilbert girl cried out before she pulled the vampire into her chest and continue to sob for one of the most important people in her life. "No one else was supposed to get hurt!" Emily ranted as tears continued to fall down her face, "it was only supposed to be me!"

Emily felt like she was consumed by anger as she thought about the feared hybrid's plan for the sacrifice. "That fucking jackass!" The Gilbert girl swore as she realized that Klaus did this to hurt her. "I swear I'm going to kill him," Emily growled into the vampire's chest with that Petrova fire swimming throughout her green irises.

Despite the fact that Emily felt this large amount of anger in her chest from Klaus' plan, the Gilbert girl couldn't help but also feel so much fear as she hugged the vampire as tightly as she could. Emily thought that they had the most perfect plan in the world but that was all thrown away as the last person - who she ever wanted to see in the sacrifice was holding her -

Emily's other half. Emily's better half. Emily's best friend. Emily's twin sister - Elena Gilbert.
