1.6 - A Dash of Tyranny

Start from the beginning

"But the spell had a side effect on the three women...the first had died, the second had been killed, or she had somehow been reborn into anew life, and the third...she was cursed with immortality.

"For centuries she had lived on, never aging, and traveling constantly from one part of the country to another. She had met many people and learned from them. All while keeping her magic a secret.

"However, the woman had a vision. That the Dark Lord may be reborn as a new being and try to steal the powers for himself. So in order to protect her secret, she wrote everything she had learned from her sisters into a book, locked by magic. All the spells, all the enchantments, and more. Before she had left for another world, she let the book fall into another one, letting a mystery person taking the book with them to their world; One where it would be safe and secured. And Only one with a willful mind and a generous, strong heart can unlock the book. Using her powers, she saw only one name before she had disappeared: Charlotte."

"...Me?!"

"Yes." We were soon back in the room. "You're the one we have been waiting for, Charlotte. You're the last of the Seers. Fate has chosen you to harness our powers and continue what has been started. You harbor the Light, and it's up to you to unleash it."

"I...I don't know if I can do it, though..." I murmur doubtfully.

"As long as you've faith in yourself, you can master the power very quickly. You have the makings of a first-rate spell master, as well as a Seer. It's in you! I can see it."

I look at her as she smiles at me.

"Charlie!"

"Deuce?" I look back to the portal to see Deuce in the my room waking up.

"It's best if you wake up. We'll talk again."

I nod as I leave.

"You went and sullied my roses! Prepare yourselves!"

The Queen of Hearts stood before Alice and the three cards, one rose tree in her grasp.

"Have mercy, Your Majesty! It's their doing!" The Three of Clubs claimed.

"Not me! It's the Ace!" The two pushed onto his comrade.

"So it's you?!" She shouted.

"No, the Two!" The Ace pleaded.

"Then the Two?!"

"No, the Three!"

"Enough! Off with their heads!!" She finally bellowed.

The three cards were dragged off.

"That's so stupid...taking someone's head over the color of a rose..." I mutter exasperated.

I walked down the stairs, dressed in my blue uniform, to the Lounge.

"Charlie, wake up. It's the Unbirthday party today. We can't afford to be late." Deuce shakes me by the shoulders.

"Okay, okay..." I wave him off, rubbing my eyes and stifling a yawn. I heard someone knock on the door.

"Looks like someone's here." Deuce walks to the foyer. After a minute, he appears again with Cater

"Morning! You enjoy the sleepover? Your evening of pillow fights and card games?" He asks.

Oh yea, I forgot. I think I passed out during the game...I dunno...

"Morning, Cater." Ace yawns. "Yea, we played cards. Grim didn't know the rules so we just played Old Maid."

"I couldn't win at all!" Grim complained as I grabbed my bag that I had left on the couch earlier today.
