Chapter 39.

I couldn't help but tell him I'd think about it. It isn't fair to me how he acted but I can't ignore his sincere apology, the way he kneeled in front of me with those puppy eyes. How could a girl like me refuse? Unlucky for him I actually have some self-worth left, my 'thinking about it' isn't a lie but I'm still not sure if I'd ever actually say 'no'. Would he still want to pretend? And hide our relationship? There are so many unanswered questions. I can't pretend this didn't make me want to jump back into his arms. But I don't want to be walked all over.

It feels good knowing my life is changing, everything is starting to be positive again, I decide to take a shower, I'm happy Ava isn't back, it feels good being able to have the dorm all to myself. No drunk late nights, no arguing and best of all, sleep is whenever I say it is. I can't wait for the test results. I have a feeling they'll all be positive. I have no idea how I managed to get into this school in the first place, with such a high level of education along with some of the smartest students on earth. Ava got into this college because some strings were pulled whilst I studied my fat ass off.

After taking a shower, I walk back to my dorm, leaving my hair wet. I want to look different since this is going to be a new chapter in my life, without Ava and possibly with Liam. I need a new look that doesn't involve losing weight. I sit down in front of my desk, pulling out a small mirror and place it on the perfectly clean desk. The scissors on my table seems to be telling me something. I take a few strands of my hair and cut them off, leaving them to fall onto the floor. I cut another strand and then another, and before I know it I've completely changed my hair, leaving it now to fall right below my jaw instead of my shoulder. I stare at the tiny mirror hoping somehow I'll get an answer from my reflection, but my reflection stays quiet. „I like it." I say and smile at myself.
