Carpe Diem: Circle of Life

Free… I live and breathe unbound by the tangles of Nature’s vines

Timeless, living in the moment a spirit flitting from time to time.

Tear off life’s shackles and spill my soul into the infinite abyss

Roll down the white eternal plain the black wishes hidden in the mist

From troubled fog shines out the freedom of my soul’s dreams

Black and white, lightning and sun, Mankind’s smiles and screams.

Therein resides the Nature of Men who ever turn and turn

A prison, the circle of Life; we breathe, we die, none learn.

Happiness, resides upon the horizon; present but never ours

So what light in our dark hearts guides us through our dark hours?

A flame which flickers dimly, sparks, burns then fizzles out

Death is all living’s certitude whereas life remains a doubt.

We forever seek out the mysteries of our ever encroaching death

Yet, should we not while on this earth treasure every breath.
