It's been three years since Derek found out Stiles died, he hadn't failed even a day to visit the boys grave, even when there was some big bad supernatural disaster going on he left it to Scott and his pack, Derek sat in front of Stiles grave silent today, he didn't say anything for a long time, there was something on his mind and he knew he was being watched by the pack, it wasn't his pack he didn't belong here, the only thing keeping him here was the grave of the boy he fell in love with, Cora had contacted him a few times, he eventually told her what happened  after a year of her asking and she told him to take as much time as he needed

Today Derek sat here letting his tears fall freely as he read the words on the grave stone "a loving son, brother, Friend and Mate" he ran his fingers over the word Mate, the Sheriff had it added, saying something about it being the truth "I wish I had the chance to tell you" he closed his eyes taking a breath "I knew you where my mate Stiles, and I'm glad it was you, no one else would have been a greater mate to me then you, I didn't deserve you but I'm glad it was you" Derek looked up to the sky "I'm leaving today Stiles, your dad said I needed to get away, that I was destroying myself staying here" Derek smiled "I was going to look after him for you, but he said he's fine, wanna know what's funny, my uncle said he'd do it, I think they are together, they are right though, I can't keep doing this, I need to go, Cora needs me" he looked back at the grave "I'll visit again just not every day like the past three years, you're my world Sti, I miss you and love you always"

Noah put his hand on Derek's shoulder "you are a good man Derek and he'll understand" Derek nodded getting up and Noah pulled him into a hug "go on get going Cora is waiting for you"

Derek took one last look at Stiles grave "I love you Stiles, always will" they both slowly walked away leaving the grave, a gentle wind blew past them and Derek had a soft smile as he tilted his head back blinking away his tears before getting in the car heading to his sisters

"I love you too Der" Stiles whispered back as the wind blew, "I always will"
