Chapter 16~ New pack member

(Scott's pov)
As soon as I heard my dad's call I straight away mind linked Cynthia from her room. As I was half way through walking through the backyard Cynthia dropped from her bedroom window and we jogged together. We jumped the fence, I looked behind me or make sure that Tayla was ok. As we jogged away from the house I mind linked Baron letting him know I'm leaving to see dad. When me and Cynthia thought we were far enough from the town we shifted. I honestly love shifting. It feels like a release of some sort. I feel free and alive and wild when I'm in my wolf form. Me and Cynthia howled happily as we ran together. Cynthia was a grey wolf, a dark grey one, close to what I look like but she's more faster. As we jumped over logs and broken down trees, beating each other to the pack meeting, we laughed and jumped gracefully as I crossed the finish line and fell into our little hide out. My father was in his human form, so was my mother. The elders came in their wolf forms so did some other pack members. The 2 guards Chase and Ben where standing at the top of the rocks looking over. They were the strongest of the pack, but not stronger then me or my dad. I layed down on the cool soil, Cynthia sat next to me as we lost our breaths. I was looking around the forest, letting the breeze and the smell of the forest flow through me. I closed my eyes and listened to the wind as we all waited for everyone to come. When everyone was quiet and dad was ready to talk, he cleared his throat and everyone looked at him.
"Ok, as you all know there has been rumours that we were to have my lovely wife's niece joining our pack, well those rumours are true." He smiled as a light grey wolf jumped from the top rocks. I shot up quickly, not showing any weaknesses. My mum smiled at her as she brought her hand out showing her to everyone. I watched in confusion as she shifted without covering, I was about to look away because I didn't want to see any of her body, but my mum brought a towel out infront of her. She quickly got changed into some kind of dress and then finally looked at everyone. She looked so nervous, but a few weeks in this pack and she'll get right along. "Ok friends and family, her name is Katie, she's 16 and I would like all of you to get to know her, as she will be spending the rest of her life in this unfortunate family of ours....." Everyone that was human laughed and all us wolves laugh/howled. "Hahah ok ok ok settle down now, she will living in my family home, Scott will be her guardian for a little while until she gets settled in." I mentally groaned, great, now I have to be around this so called "cousin" of mine 24/7, and I already have a feeling that poor Tayla will feel self conscious about this. Cause don't get me wrong, my Katie was alright, but I know what Tayla feels when she sees someone she thinks is prettier then her, and I don't want her to think about that. "Alright, pack dismissed." My dad clapped his hands, some other wolves howled and ran off. Me and Cynthia looked at each other, I shrugged. "Hey bro you alright?" I heard Cynthie (new nickname I just thought of) mind link me. I nodded back to her as we both made our way out of the area. "Woah woah where do you think your going?" My dad asked me sternly. I paused half way through trotting away when I saw him walk over with my mum and Katie. I sighed as I watched mum bring her bags. "She will have the guest room next to your bedroom, it's your job to look after her." I groaned as I shifted back. Dad threw me a pair of shorts, I threw them back at him because he had completely forgotten I had that witch do a spell on me that my clothes would stay intact. Katie looked surprised, my mum just smiled and rubbed Katie's back. " Katie this is Scott. Your new pack member, I know we are not fully related but he'll look after you." I nodded my head at her as I reached my hand out and shook her hand. She gave me a weird smile, I smiled at her back. " I'll take her bags down, but you need to show her the house and everything like that. I trust that you'll make her feel welcome?" My dad told me and gave me a stern face. I did a cheeky smile back at him and said, "don't worry dad, you can trust this pretty face of mine." I gave him a nod as Cynthie coughed under her breath. I heard her mind link, "gay boy" I laughed to my self as Katie smiled at me as I nodded at dad telling him it was gonna be alright. Cynthie shifted into her human form as dad threw a dress at her so she could change. "I think you and me will get along, very, well." Katie said with a wink, I gulped down the guilty feels. I knew exactly how Tayla would feel If she saw the way Katie would act. I shook me head and laughed as we walked. Katie ran ahead, with our wolf spead we caught up. "Oh come on I thought you wolves could run fast?" Katie said as she laughed and jumped in the air. When we we got close to the fence, we slowed down. We all jumped the fence at the exact same time Tayla was watching through her window. I met her eyes and nodded my head at her, she smiled back and I waved and jogged into the house. Katie was watching me with those eyes of hers, I mean seriously, can I not wear a shirt without being stared at. I chuckled at my thoughts as I poured myself a drink of water. "Want one?" I asked Katie when she sat up on a bar stool. She nodded, I threw her a cup and slid the jug over. She gave me a surprised look, "haha yes you are a guest, but I ain't treating you like a princess." I gave her a cheeky smile and she made a fake sad face. Cynthie came over and sat down next to her. " I'm Cynthia, you can call me Cynthie or C C for short." She smiled as she held out her hand and shook it while pouring a drink of water. Then I heard a whooshing sound, I accepted that a wolf was trying to mind link me, "Who is that girl that is with you my prince?" I straight away remembered it was Baron. I sipped another glass of water and said back to him, "a new pack member, a cousin of my mums, no need to worry about her." I heard the whooshing go away as he unlinked me and I put the glass down back in the sink. "Come on I'll show you around." I said to Katie as she finished her water. Cynthie got down from the bar stool and followed us out of the kitchen. We went up the stairs and straight near my room. I showed her the guest room which is now known as her room. We had 3 bathrooms in this house, living in a house full of wolves gave dad the decision to put a bathroom for himself and my mother, one for Cynthia and one for me. I showed Katie her new bathroom, she'd have to share with Cynthia. But Cynthie being herself, she would not deal with having another person in her bathroom all the time, so no doubt in about a week she'd be sharing my bathroom or kick Katie out. "I'll take it from here Scott, go see your beloved maaaate" she said the word 'mate' in a girly way and I just rolled my eyes at her and said as I was about to turn my back, "She's not my mate." Cynthia just giggled, turned and said, "yet!!!" And we both laughed and went our separate ways, I felt the pang of jealousy from Katie, I can literally feel how every wolf feels, kinda creepy. I layed down on my bed, letting my mind wonder to see what Taylor was doing. She was talking to silver, "she's so much more prettier then me, I knew he'd find someone, but I was always hoping it'd be me." She said to silver, I instantly felt the need to go see her right at this moment and tell her she's all I need, but I honestly didn't want to wreck anything. I let my mind wonder back into reality as I threw my ball up near the roof and caught it, I did this like 16 times before I put the ball down and fell asleep. Letting the face of my beautiful best friend fill my dreams

(Wow, so there's a new pack member, oh jeez, stuffs about to go down when Katie sees that Scott has eyes for Taylor and not her. And an angry werewolf dominate female is not one that doesn't like to be turned down. I love writing for you guys, but I've got exams coming up and I can't really write that much because I'm studying. But I will write alot more in the holidays!! 3 MORE WEEKS YAY OMFG! I am so excited, more sleep ins, stuffing myself with fatty food, and of corse more writing! I am so sorry for the wait if I don't get time to write anymore then this chapter, I'm trying to decide whether to keep continuing on this conflict between Katie and Taylor or just keep going closer to Taylor seeing Scott as a wolf. But anyways thank you all so much for reading!
