Beneath the empty sky, Elder Liu stepped back as he cast a long shadow on the ground. He panted heavily as his gaze fell upon the White Tiger who was stalking towards him.

Even though Yunyao's power had decreased substantially, she was still a Divine Beast and in regards to battle experience, she was significantly more experienced than Elder Liu.

Elder Liu was being pushed into defeat...

He laughed and the laughter was filled with sarcasm and disdain, "Gu Ruoyun, you cannot imagine the number of Martial Kings in the Dark Yin Palace! Even if I'm unable to kill you today, you will experience being hunted by those Martial Kings! Do you really think that you can escape them?"

Actually, Elder Liu was only saying this to scare Gu Ruoyun. He was hoping for her to let her guard down so he could kill her when the White Tiger was not watching!

Unfortunately, Gu Ruoyun was calm and as still as water from start till now. She kept a level gaze on Elder Liu and her expression told him that she had not believed a single word he had said.

Just as Elder Liu was trying to think of another way, the young woman's voice rose from the silence of the courtyard.

"Yunyao, it's getting late. We should head back."

However, when Elder Liu heard this, he misunderstood and thought that Gu Ruoyun had been terrified by his threats and wanted to escape. Gu Ruoyun glanced once at him before instructing, "Yunyao, finish this!"

"Yes, Master."

Yunyao lifted her claws and advanced with a cold smile on her lips. What was so great about the Dark Yin Palace anyways? As long as those two men were by her Master's side, even a hundred Martial Kings would be insignificant.

Did this guy really think that the Dark Yin Palace can save him?

Yunyao aimed her sharp claws made at Elder Liu's neck. Just at that instant, a strong power accompanied by a dragon's roar could be heard across the sky and it caused the ground to shake.

Her claws were a few centimeters away from Elder Liu's neck as Yunyao looked up at the dark clouds rolling in the sky. In that moment, several emotions flashed across her face - surprise, excitement, and a look of yearning...

Which of you is Gu Ruoyun?" A low, hoarse voice, carrying an unbeatable power, sounded amongst the clouds.

No one knew what was going on and fear was apparent in everyone's eyes. Even Elder Liu was stunned as he watched the grey cloud-filled skies warily.

"Why has Your Excellency come here?" Elder Liu eyes darkened as he asked.

"I'm here to kill Gu Ruoyun so those who have no business here better leave!"

The voice dripped with murderous intent and it was as though a bolt of lightning had pierced through everyone's hearts. Immediately following that, a dragon's roar echoed from the sky, causing the ground to shake again.

The events in the courtyard had caught many people's attention since the beginning. Countless people were gathered before the Ling family house and they watched the person hiding amongst the clouds in shock.

No, that wasn't a person...

"Gu Ruoyun is done for this time, she's actually provoked such a powerful opponent."

"This opponent looks really strong. No one will come to save her now."

The crowd was in awe. The roar from the clouds had clearly come from a huge dragon. Dragons were at the top of the food chain and had the ability to destroy both heaven and the earth. Even if Gu Ruoyun could amass a force of expert cultivators, they would be no match for the dragon.
