What the fuck does 'wholesale' mean?

-TORD'S POV-

We arrived at the mall early as planned, so I was able to find some clothes at a nearby store. Also apparently there's a clothing store named 'Torrid', just thought that was kind of funny. Anyway, I continued buying the basic clothes for warm and cold weather, and watched Tom kick his feet around in a bored fashion. I felt bad and wanted to hug him, and yet the sadistic side of me wanted to make him wait longer. I don't want to end up with a spoiled brat... then again we're waiting for his friends outside this place.

"Could we please go? Get something to drink at the food-court? We're meeting them there anyway!" Tom gave me big puppy-dog eyes and whimpered, too cute to deny or ignore. "Fine, I guess we could get some hot chocolate or something." I sighed and picked up my bag, walking back out of the store with my cutie. My cutie. As we found our way to the mall, which Tom was obviously familiar with, he paused and looked straight ahead at our location. He gasped and started running forward, nearly crying while yelling, "Edd, Matt!" Then walked forward and let him collide into them with open arms.

I smiled and approached calmly, as not to alarm them. "You've grown Tom!" his friend, who was nearly the same height now, smiled and giggled happily. Tom smiled back with tears in his eyes. I suppose the one in the green vaporwave shirt is Edd, making the taller one in a purple turtleneck Matt. Edd and Matt smiled contently at their friend then quickly noticed my arrival. "Tom who's- who's this?" Edd held his friend protectively as I gave a fake friendly smile. It's not that I'm not friendly, or that I'm not happy, I just don't know who these people are yet.

"Tord! He's the leader at the army camp I was sent to!" Tom exclaimed proudly, and yet shyly at the same time. "What kind of name is Tord?" Matt questioned immediately, I can tell he's judgmental and probably jealous. Edd meanwhile appeared intimidated, I can understand it though. Despite how I look or act, meeting someone who speaks another language plus your own can make you feel pretty stupid. That and we're  judgmental ourselves quite often.

"Why is he here?" Edd seemed very suspicious of me, again though who could blame him? "I wanted to help him out with family issues." I phrased things in a subtle way, or at least tried to. I gave an eerie smile on accident which probably scared them. Edd pulled his dark eyed friend aside a bit and put his hand up to his ear, whispering quietly. "Is, ah, Tord okay? He isn't lookin' too hot... well I mean he is, but he looks sickly." Edd stammered, keeping an eye on the Norski. "He's fine, just a bit stern!" Tom giggled loud enough so I could hear.

I gave him an equally suspicious look and moved my arms behind my back, taking in a deep breath. They moved back to a normal position and looked up at me. Matt was nearly my height, which is quite impressive considering that he's a few years younger than I, also I'm pretty sure he's wearing eyeliner and mascara. "Okay so I know you're here to help out Tom, but why you of all people? Aren't you really important?" Edd continued questioning. "Yes but why don't we grab something to eat before we get into this!" Tom yanked on his friend's shirt sleeve like a toddler. It's good to know his friends understand him and take care of him.

We entered the food-court and found a place where we could get some milkshakes. Edd got a banana shake, Matt got a blueberry shake, Tom got a chocolate and vanilla shake, and lastly I got a cinnamon toast crunch shake. We found a table near a large wall of glass facing out to the town before us and sat down in a nice and comfortable booth, finally we could relax. It's been a hectic year.
