When he arrived at the church he was sick to see the church he'd attended as a child up in flames

Thick black clouds of smoke billowed from what was the steeple

Henry walked up beside him

"Accelerant by the front doors this time "

Jordan added that to his notes and walked toward the church

"Have they found anything else ?"

Henry nodded "A broken rosary "

Jordan put gloves on and followed Henry to the parking lot of the church where they found the rosary

Jordan recognized it immediately

The rosary had been his aunts

It was custom made with all of her children's birthstones in it

"Hand me a bag will you ?"

"Is it important Jordan ?"

"It was my aunt's the only person who knew it was in the Melville Avenue house was my brother.It was the last thing Nate had left of his mother and he is going to be devastated "

Henry handed Jordan a bag and Jordan slipped it into the bag

They walked closer to the church when Murray stopped them

"This one went up fast .There's a witness that seen a man exit the church just before the flames were visible "

"It has to be them "Jordan muttered

Henry nodded "I'm beginning to agree with you "

Jordan's phone went off

Unknown Got a light ?"

Jordan angrily looked at the message

Calling Henry over he explained that he would be back that he had to check something out

Henry assured him that he'd keep him posted on the fire and to be careful

Jordan drove straight to the hospital to see Nate

When he entered the room Nate was on the phone

"Mattie just called me "he explained after he hung up

"Did you get to talk to the kids ?"

Nate smiled widely "It made my day.Thank you for keeping them safe "

"They're family of course I will "

"Talking about the kids isn't why you're here is it ?"

"That's part of it but truthfully no "

"Has Aiden been to see you again ?"

Nate shook his head "No just the other day to tell me about Mary "

"Have you heard from Richard ?"

Nate looked at him puzzled

"Hell no why would he contact me ?"

"I thought you guys were tight "

"Not since that bastard tried to kick me out of my house and you had to intervene "

"I remember that I thought that was all solved it's been quite a few years "

Nate shook his head "Fuck no man he was still trying several months ago and I told him to take it up with you "
