Jordan suddenly remembered where they were.
"Mattie come up to my apartment with me it's safe there I promise "
"I don't have anything with me I need to go to my apartment " Mattie whispered
Jordan shook his head "No you don't baby.Let's go get lunch and do some shopping "

"You're not going to win this sweetheart "Jordan interjected as he led her out the side door to the secure parking area.
Jordan opened the passenger side door of his truck for Mattie ,gently closing it before getting into the driver's seat.
"Whatever phone you'd like just tell me and we'll get it. Your old phone is a piece of shit anyway."
Mattie nodded but didn't open her mouth.
Grasping her hand in his as he entered the highway Jordan flipped on the radio to break the silence

Mattie shifted her gaze to Jordan as he sang along with the very familiar melody
"Sorry if it's intolerable I'll stop " Jordan chuckled
Mattie shook her head "N-no i-it's fine . your voice –"
"That bad huh?" Jordan asked as he pulled into a parking space
"N-No not really "
Jordan cut the engine, unhooked his seatbelt , leaned over and released Mattie's .Before she knew it Mattie felt herself being hauled into Jordan's lap
Looking into her eyes Jordan held her gaze "Mattie this shy has to go. We're long past this baby. I care about you a lot you're on my mind constantly . You have taken care of me when I didn't deserve it , shown me that there are actually still people in this world who care about others . Tell me you don't feel whats going on between us and I will let you go.Or you can admit that you feel it too and I can show you what it's like to be treated like the lady you are the lady I'm falling for "
The last part slipped out and Jordan cursed under his breath . It was too soon he didn't want to scare her away
Their eyes met for a second before Jordan twined his fingers through her hair frustrated at the bun she kept it in. "Why do you wear this damn thing anyway ?"
"Keeps my hair out of the way "
Gently tugging on the clip that held the bun in place Jordan whispered "It's not in the way "
As Mattie's hair fell Jordan's fingers wove through it guiding Mattie closer ,his eyes still locked with her own .
As Jordan's lips met Mattie's again , she felt herself instinctively leaning into him
