There's one more hour until the party and even though Gage is coming I can't help but feel nervous. I've never been to a party let alone with a bunch of strangers, but maybe this will be good for me.
Gage dropped me off right after school so he could go home and get ready. I wish he was here to prepare me for this. After staring in the mirror for a while I decide on straightening my hair. As my flat iron heats up I start applying some makeup. I put some glitter on my eyelids and apply a thin layer of eyeliner before finalizing it with mascara.
Once my hair and makeup is done I flip through my closet trying to find something. What do people even wear to a party? In the back I see a single black dress hanging, I lean forward and slide it off the hooks to examine it. It's a little risky, but I don't have much choice. I pull it on and look in the mirror. The dress is tight with an off the shoulder cut and lace across my stomach allowing it to fully show. I would have never worn this back in Washington, but maybe it's time for something new. I take one last look in the mirror as Gage knocks from downstairs. Before going to let him in I grab a purse and put my phone inside,
"Hello." I pipe as the door opens.
"Hey you."
My mouth drops as I take him in. He's wearing a blue button up that hangs open showing his torso, tight white shorts, and black Vans.
"You look incredible." He compliments before I get the chance to.
"Says you." I smile at him while sliding my black wedges on.
"Shall we get going? We can stay here if you've changed your mind." He winks.
"No, we're going. You're not getting out of this."
Rolling his eyes, "Okay, let's goo."
I giggle as I follow him out and lock the door.
