Chapter 323. Finding Sky.

Fire shook his head at Rock who was still patting sniveling Water's back. Sun glanced over at Loyal.

Loyal: Sooooo, what happened?
Rock: Found him, asked him to come with us, he refused, we tried to persuade him, got cursed out, we left. The End.
Sun: He sounds-
Fire: Mean?
Sun: Yeah.
Fire: I'm having second thoughts.
Loyal: Come on, guys; Sky was probably in a bad-
Rock: By the way, Loyal. Sky said the F-word at you.
Loyal: Ah.
Fire: We better leave him alone.
Sun: But, Cosmic and Galactic-
Fire: We will not tell them.
Water: Why?
Fire: Because I said so.
Rock: Did Loyal say so?
Fire: I'm sure he will. Loyal?
Loyal: I don't know.
Fire: Right. Let's all agree that-
Sun: Maybe someone else should go talk to Sky?
Fire: Yeah, who?
Sun: How about Cosmic?
Rock: He left, remember?
Sun: Oh-yeah.
Water: We could try again?
Sun: We'll send someone else.
Loyal: I'll go.
Fire: Not happening, Loyal.
Loyal: Fire-
Fire: N-O!
Sun: Why, Loyal? Sky is angry at you for some odd-
Water: Sky hates Loyal because Loyal didn't save him when he was in danger.
Loyal: I'll go and tell him-
Fire: I said 'no'.
Loyal: Come on, Fire. Sky is hurt and-
Fire: Uh, what makes you think Sky wants your healing. The guy just said 'fuck' at you.
Sun: Fire has a point, Loyal.
Loyal: Himitsu cursed me out, I still went back for him.
Rock: Himitsu is another story. Sky? Oh-ho-ho, Sky is pissed.
Water: Yes, Loyal. What if he hurts you?
Loyal: Well, that's a chance I'm willing to take.
Fire: Loyal!
Loyal: Fire. What's the Guardians and Deities Rule?
Fire: A Deity and Guardian will not rest until they heal the suffering?
Loyal: That's right.
Rock: Sky wants us to leave him alone.
Loyal: Well, I don't know what happened over those years, I think it's time to find Sky and bring him home. Where did you last see him?
Water: He was b-

Rock stomped on Water's foot.

Water: Ouch!
Rock: Sky was by the waterfall in the human world.
Sun: There?
Rock: Yes, sir.
Water: But-

Water cried out when Rock squeezed his neck. Loyal turned to his brothers

Fire: Loyal.
Loyal: I'll be fine.
Sun: Will you?
Loyal: I have made my choice.
Fire: You light this candle if you need me, alright?
Loyal: I will.

Loyal smiled at his brothers and friends. All of them except Loyal were thinking the same thing.

This is crazy.

The next day.

Fire threw in a few apples in Loyal's knapsack while Cloud put in a map. All the Deities wanted to see Loyal leave to find Sky. Even Cordelia made the trip.

Loyal: Fire you watch over the others until I return.
Fire: Me?
Loyal: Take good care of them, please.
Fire: I'll do my best.
Loyal: That won't be too hard for you.

Loyal pulled on his knapsack and smiled at his friends.

Sand: Be careful, Loyal.
Loyal: I will.
Earth: Don't lose your temper with Sky.
Loyal I'll keep sane as possible.

Before Loyal could open the gate, Faisceau hugged him tightly and didn't let go.

Faisceau: Oh, Loyal! Be careful, please!
Loyal: I can't breathe.
Faisceau: I don't want Sky hurting my baby!
Loyal: Ma, I'm not a baby anymore.
Faisceau: No, you're my baby.
Loyal: Mama, not now, please.

Of course, Faisceau didn't listen. She smoothed down Loyal's mussed up hair, straightened his collar, and hugged him once more.

Sun: Mama, Loyal has to get going.
Faisceau: Oh, I know.

Faisceau kissed Loyal's cheek making the older Deities laugh at him.

Loyal: I'll be okay, mama. I love you.

Loyal opened the gate and walked out waving goodbye to his friends.

"Bye, Loyal."

"Be safe."

"Don't hurt yourself."

"Goodbye."

"Use the map and eat your apples."

"Goodbye, my baby!!"

"Bye-bye."

Everyone stared at Loyal until he was gone. Fire clapped his hands getting everyone's attention.

Fire: Let's get to work now.
Earth: Should we go after Loyal? I want him back.
Fire: Loyal will be fine, Earth. Don't be scared.
Valheita: Is it all right if I can look in the Temple Loyal works in?
Fire: No, Only Loyal is allowed in there.
Valheita: Why?
Fire: Nevermind, Valheita. Just go do something else.

Valheita shrugged and left with the other Deities. Fire noticed Cordelia lagging behind.

Fire: Are you okay?
Cordelia: What? Oh, I'm just thinking.
Fire: If you need help, just call me.
Cordelia: I will, thanks.

Cordelia hurried off failing to see Valheita who was watching her.

Where Loyal was.

Opening his map, Loyal continued walking into the forest. Small squirrels chittered at him and ran off.

Loyal: Okay, Sky... where are you?

Loyal never looked up from his map. One of Amagna's demons hid inside of a tree watching him.

Two hours later.

Loyal: Where is he? He's not by the waterfall, he is not here-

Chewing on an apple core, Loyal continued walking further into the forest until a small arrow zoomed past his head.

Startled, Loyal jumped away from the arrow.

Sky: I don't like trespassers. Leave now.

Loyal looked up.

Sky sat in the tree looking down at him.

Loyal: Sky? Are you Sky?
Sky: ...
