Nights

I like to tell people
I like nights
This is true
I do like nights
However
The real truth
Is that I like being the last person
Awake at night
Oftentimes
When I tell people
That I like to be the last person awake
I get funny looks

I think people find
That I like to be alone and awake
A little odd
You see,
It's not that I don't like people
I love people
I just enjoy nights
Because at night
It's just me and God
No people
No responsibilities
No one to talk to
To give advise to
To laugh at memes with
Just me
And God

It's simple
Pure
Quiet

I like it best when it's
Just me
And God
I laugh at memes
And he is with me
I pray often
And he listens
I cry sometimes
And he comforts me
I paint sometimes
And he watches me
Express myself
I listen to music
And he sees me
Sometimes I just sit there
I sit there quiet and still
I barely move
I don't speak
A barely think
I just sit stilly
And God sits with me
He "is with me always
Even to the end of the age."
