I heard a quote,
"The rehab centers and cemeteries are full of people who have everything they wanted"
And the only thing
I could thing of was,
'and it wasn't enough.'
There has to be more
Something- and someone- greater
Because to humanity,
Everything one ever wanted
Is not enough
The rich man,
Inside the golden gates,
Is, at best,
Still a miserable man
With a wretched lack of purpose
To have everything
Is to have nothing
If there is not someone
Greater than thee
From the graveyards, to the cemeteries
From the churches to the streets
We live our lives
In want
Hardly stopping long enough to see
That the person we are searching for
Is the one greater than thee:
Jesus Christ
The son of God
Who loved so deeply
He died upon a ragged tree
And rose again
Three days the later
So that His deep love
Could remind us of this redeeming truth:
To have everything
Is to have nothing
If there is not someone
You serve who is
Greater than thee
