As I get ready for school I feel a wave of sadness come over me and I crumble down onto my knees clutching my chest. My heart feels as if it was smashed into a million tiny pieces and every time I moved or thought of him the pieces would poke at my heart and make me feel as if the whole world was crashing down around me.
"Scott!" Amber yells running into my room she helps me up and sits me down on my bed "Holly what happened?!" she asks sitting down next to me Scott explodes into my room and when his gaze lands on me he gasps. I sit up and feel a dull pain in my heart I let out a sob and begin to cry Amber moves closer to me and wraps her arms around me protectively.
Scott sits down beside me as I cry into Amber's arms "what did Grayson do?" Scott asks Amber slaps him "Scott just let her cry," she tells him I shake my head and pull out of her grasp. I take a deep breathe and calm myself before answering "I broke up with him" I tell Scott he smiles at me and pats my back
"I'm proud" he says Amber punches his shoulder "can't you see she's in pain!" she yells at him he puts his hands up "sorry I asked" he says I shake my head "it's okay. I just wish I broke up with him sooner" I tell them "what happened?" Amber asks I sigh "I caught him cheating," I say sadly Scott jumps up from his spot on my bed.
I shake my head at him "Scott, please don't just leave him alone" I tell him he shakes his head "Holly as your older brother I'm supposed to protect you and I didn't" he says angrily Amber rolls her eyes "honestly Scott she told you to leave the boy alone so just leave him" she tells him I think for a minute "actually I don't care" I say rolling to lay on my back "do what you want I don't care anymore" I say staring up at the ceiling
"yes you do" Amber says "you do care if you didn't you wouldn't be hurting so bad" she tells me I shake my head and sob "make it go away!" I yell as more tears stream down my face. Amber takes my hand in her's "the best cure for a broken heart is to have a girl's night" she tells me
"invite Willow, Nova, and Peyton over for a sleepover that'll cheer you up" she says squeezing my hand "Ewww five girls in the house" Scott fake gags "where's mom?" I ask Amber sighs "she's traveling for work," Scott says I groan and roll my eyes. My phone vibrates so I sit up and read the text messages from Ethan and Grayson.
Grayson: Can we talk?
Ethan: Holly where are?
Ethan: Did Grayson tell you?
Ethan: he said he did but didn't get to explain. Don't let him he'll lie to you again
I cry again as I read Ethan's last text through blurry eyes I text him back saying 'thanks Ethan but I want to know the truth' almost as soon as I send him the text he sends one back 'if you want I can meet you after school and we can talk' I smile at my phone happy to know there was at least one good guy in this world.
I forget that my siblings were sitting with me and they both had read the texts "don't do it" Scott warns Amber smacks him "we've always known Ethan was a good guy" Amber reminds him Scott nods but then rolls his eyes "girls" he says getting up Amber groans loudly "remember who broke your sister's heart! A guy!"
Amber yells after Scott I laugh at her and she turns to me smiling. "See Ethan did help," she says happily I frown "I guess," I say sadly she moves closer to me and puts an arm around my shoulder "you don't need to rush into a relationship and you don't need to date Ethan but don't shut him down right away Holly. It sucks that Grayson cheated on you but don't close yourself off from a good guy who wants to help you" she says wisely I turn to her
"when did you get smart?" I ask her smiling she taps my nose with her finger "I've always been a genius you've just never noticed" she gets up from my bed and I frown "where are you going?" I ask she smiles
"Scott's making breakfast. We're staying home today and doing whatever you want" she tells me I smile feeling grateful to have such wonderful siblings to help me in my time of need. I get up from my bed and walk into the living room with Amber at my side we sit down on the couch and I put on my favorite Disney movie Cinderella.
