Lights.
A few moments later we're in a line while a lady was peeling off a paper that was hidden in our passports. She also checked if the flight was correct before smiling at us and telling that we could already go straight.
"Ladies and gentlemen, good morning. Welcome on board B2JJWE-76. This is Captain dela Cruz speaking and I have some information about our flight." I heard the captain say as we sat on our seats.
The seats were at least a meter away from each other if I was exaggerating. A row consisted of three seats, that pretty made a distance. Denisse was at the window, followed by me and then Brett. Kayden sat behind her, on the other row.
"Our flight time today will be nineteen hours and our estimated time of arrival in Quebec, Canada is 8:36pm local time." He added.
"Why would you place me beside Brett?" I ask her.
Nakita kong napatawa ng mahina si Kayden.
"What?" I looked at him as he shrugged as a reply.
"Ayokong makatabi siya, ayoko rin na mag-isa ka sa likod, so..." I blinked.
"Bakit hindi nalang siya yung tinabi mo sakin?" I pouted, pointing at Kayden.
"I'm sleepy." She said at tumalikod na sa akin. Napahalukipkip ako at tumingin nalang sa mga crew doon.
When I suddenly looked at Brett, I saw him winking at a brunette who obviously dyed her hair.
Napairap ako sa kanya.
Babaero.
"The weather in our route is will be quite unclear. The forecast also said that it would also be snowy in Quebec when we arrive. We remind you that if you need any special attention, all our crews will be ready to assist you."
I sighed and looked straight and tried to listen to the old man's voice. He sounded a bit like my father which made me want to use my phone.
I quickly searched for it at binuksan ito, I switched it onto airplane mode at sinalpak ang earphones ko agad.
"We'll be flying over some touristic places, such as Granville Island and English Bay. You will be able to follow our route on one of the entertaining-"
Natigil na ang pagsasalita niya nang pindotin ko ang Kathang-isip ng Ben&Ben.

The flight indeed lasted for nineteen hours. Lahat kami napagod, mejo inaantok na rin pero agad rin naman kami nagising sa sobrang lamig ng simoy ng hangin. We were in another place, not in our warm, summer-inspired hometown.
I started at the two people in front of me- Denisse and Kayden. It somehow bugs me to see that they are so close.
I remembered during our flight, they changed meals since Kayden knew that Denisse was allergic to peanuts. Nagulat ako na alam niya. Theybweren't even speaking to each other at school, o kahit magkasama kaming apat. It was just so new.
I bit my lip and drank my water. I should have chose the mineral one dahil mapait pag purified.
I looked at Brett, who's somehow doing some things at his phone. Gusto ko siyang batukan. It was quite my first time seeing him flirting with other girls. Lalo na yung mga stewardess nung nagserve sila ng pagkain.
Napailing ako at kinuha yung libro ko. I flipped to the next page dahil gusto ko na matapos ito kaagad.
It was a story of a dog, who got reincarnated a lot of times. May movie version nito pero ayokong ma-spoil. I wanted to read the novel version, para mas ma-feel ko yung emotions ng author. Alam ko naman yung ending nito, just not the full details of it.
I felt someone tapped my shoulder. I looked to who it was and found Kayden smiling at me.
"Bakit?" tanong ko.
"Here's our service." He said
"Oh." I replied. Hindi ko siya maisagot ng maayos, probably having doubts of my assumptions. "Sige, I'll sit at the front."
Nakita kong uupo na si Brett sa harapan nang unahan ko siya. Nakita kong inirapan niya ako bago nagpasyang pumunta sa likod.
"Where are we going?" The driver asks.
"Port Royal de Uluadé, please." Denisse said, smiling at the driver.
Agad kong sinandal yung ulo ko sa salamin. I was trying to not think anything or create any assumptions involving my thick head of mine and Denisse. She would never. She would just never.
Ramdam kong nag-vibrate yung phone ko. Nang tinignan ko iyon ay napatingin ako kay Denisse. She gave me a questioning look and pointed to her phone.
I sighed and clicked the message bar.
Bakit hindi ka umupo dito? Dapat ako nakaupo jan eh. Haharangan ko sana si Brett.
Napangiti ako ng maliit. I started to type a reply.
Gusto kong makita yung daan
I sent her my text.
Gusto kong irapan at sampalin sarili ko. It was because I felt uncomfortable around the both of them.
She didn't reply after that kaya pinikit ko nalang yung mata ko. I wanted to not doubt anyone.
When the van stopped, nagising rin ako. I was just half asleep kaya hindi na nila ako ginising. I saw Brett paying the driver before I got out of the cab.
I stared at the hotel in front of me. It looked like a house with pale bricks all around it. Mukha siyang condominium na kinatatakutan ko, but we had no choice but to stay here for the night. Denisse told me that this hotel is actually not like what it looks like, and she was telling the truth.
It was so beautiful inside, sobrang lawak ng lugar, the couches looked like a somehow royalty. Lalo na sa loob ng kwarto. Medyo maliit pero sobrang ganda ng design.
Kayden booked two rooms. Share kami ni Denisse ng kwarto. The two rooms had two beds each kaya okay na share kaming dalawa.
I sighed and decided to take a nap.
"What?" After for what I feel is a few minutes, I heard someone talk.
"I'm gonna get some fresh air, would you mind?" I hugged the pillow that was in between my legs.
"I'll stay." Minulat ko yung mata ko at nakitang may tao na nakasilip lang sa may pinto.
"You sure?"
"I'm always sure." The person gave her a somewhat sarcastic smile.
When I heard the door closed, pinikit ko ulit yung mata ko at natulog. I didn't even mind Denisse turning the lights on.
