I stepped into my house later that night and called, "Dad!"
"In the kitchen darling!" His reply came.
I stepped into the kitchen to find him sitting across from a lady. I put my bag down on the chair and smiled at her. She had shoulder-length dark hair and teal eyes. She was slender and dressed extremely nice.
"Who's this?" I asked cautiously.
She stood up and reached out to shake my hand as she said, "Hi. I'm Kayla Eastwood. I believe you go to school with my kids."
"I am going to take a wild guess and say that your kids are Brendon, Ryan, and Cason?"
She laughed and said, "Yes, they are."
"So, what's going on? I mean, if you don't me asking."
"Nothing. I just knew Kayla when I was younger, before my family moved to England. Despite being here for years, I never really took the time to see her. I was too distracted," He said with a tight smile towards the end.
"That's cool. Well, I have a lot of homework and should get to it. It's nice meeting you."
"Nice to meet you too, Haven."
"Dinner is steak tonight!" My dad called after me.
I chuckled and called back, "What's new?"
After I showered and changed into more comfortable clothes, I called Mason.
"What's up girl?"
"Well, other than coming home to find my dad sitting across from Kayla Eastwood like that is completely normal, nothing."
"Wait, what?!" He shouted.
"Can you be quieter, please? I don't need the people in China knowing my business."
"Seriously, Haven. What do you mean?"
"I guess they knew each other when they were younger, before dad's family moved away to England."
"Well, what did you say to her?"
"Nothing really. I didn't know what to say Mason!"
"Why?"

Teen FictionI remember that night. I remember it so clearly. I can tell you where I was. I can tell you what I was doing. I can tell you what song was playing on the speakers. I can also tell you how I felt when I found out.
