The bass thrummed deep through the house and into the night outside as I approached. Flanked by Kat, Mason, and the twins, I was really regretting this."Come on!" Kat begged. "It will be fun!"
It was Friday and Kat had been here for a week. To our surprise, she had fallen into the school really quickly and pretty easy. She earned her spot within our group and we protected her as best as possible from Carrie and those who supported Carrie.
"Absolutely not!" I exclaimed.
"Come on, Haven," Nolan said. "Just one party."
They had been badgering me for hours about going to James' party this weekend. I sighed and relented, "If I say yes, will you all bloody shut up?"
"Of course," Kat smiled gleefully.
"Fine."
"Congratulations," A voice said, and we turned to see Ryan and Holland.
"Hey, Ryan," Kat said.
"Oh, I cannot wait to see Cason's face when you tell him to hand over the money," She chuckled out.
"Why does your brother make bets with her?" Holland asked.
"Because he is an idiot," Ryan supplied before they walked away.
