Chapter Fourty Seven: She's Cheating On Me... With Jesus!

"This is an abomination." Gigi stares down at my suitcase in disgust.

"What's wrong with it!" I defend.

"Oh I don't know just the fact that it's full of food and no clothes!"

"He did it." I point at Carter.

He quickly points back at me. "She did it."

She shakes her head at the two of us. "You're going to New York, not a deserted island."

"What about the plane ride, hm? She'll need the food." Carter reasons.

"Exactly!" I high five him.

She turns to Landon. "Why are you dating her?"

"I'm seriously reconsidering it." He says whilst putting my suitcase in his car trunk.

"Hey!" I throw a piece of grass at him.

He dramatically falls to the floor. "Ah! I'm wounded!"

Dylan joins Carter and I on the grass. "Why are you dating him?"

"I'm seriously reconsidering it." I mimic, making Landon stick out his tongue in response.

"We have the cookies you wanted!" My dad and Ryan appear waving a bag of cookies.

"Oh thank fuck." I jump up and take the bag from him.

"Language!"

"Sorry!" I reopen my suitcase and throw the bag in.

Landon shakes his head at me and closes the suitcase and the car trunk. "You do realise they have cookies in New York?"

Dad puts an arm around our shoulders. "But they don't taste like home, do they?"

"See! Dad gets it."

"Thompson's." Gigi and Landon shake their heads in unison.

Dad turns to me. "I want you to call me as soon as you land, when you get to your dorm, before bed, when you wake up, before your first class-"

"Or why don't you just come to college with me instead?"

"Is that an option?"

"No!"

He holds his hands up in defence. "Sue me for missing my daughter!"

"You have a son too!" Ryan chimes.

I laugh and hug him. "I'm gonna miss you too Dad."

"It's just gonna be me and Ryan..."

"I feel so sorry for you." Landon interjects, making the three of us stare at him. "Kidding..."

"Promise me you'll take care of yourself." He kisses my forehead.

"I will do."

"Mr Thompson, if it makes you feel any better I'll be there to take care of your daughter." Dylan smiles.

"Actually that just makes me feel worse."

We all burst out in laughter.

Dylan's face drops. "Love you too, sir."
