He downed the fifth glass as if it were water, he couldn't even feel the beverage burning his throat anymore and though he wasn't fond of using alcohol to forget, he just didn't care in that moment.

"Wilmer?" A familiar voice called him as someone took the seat next to him. He turned only to meet the lovely face of Nelly, he remembered her from when Demi and him were still together and specially from all those days he used to go to Nelly's little cafeteria where Demi worked just to see her. He wondered how much money he'd actually spent there to get to see that smile that he swore was never going to leave his memory. "What are you doing?" She asked as she ordered herself a glass of whiskey.

"Isn't it obvious?" He slurred, attempting to look her in the eye but failing when his look got lost somewhere in the wall behind the woman.

"Okay..." Nelly pressed her lips together as the waiter gave her her drink.

"Wha-what about you, huh?" He managed to ask. Nelly chuckled before taking a good sip of her beverage. "Just wanted to clear my mind. I argued with my fiance."

"So we're all in the same fucking shit hole."

"Well, not really, I just needed a glass... Not a hundred like you seem to have drunk."

If looks could kill, Nelly would have fallen right then because of how Wilmer was glaring at her.

"Tomorrow Mark and I will talk about it, have some make up sex and everything will be fine again... But I guess we can't say the same about your situation..." After talking, she brought the glass close to her lips. "Let me guess, and sorry if I'm being rude, but is it because of Demi?"

Wilmer sighed as he didn't see the point of telling lies right then, so he just nodded his head.

"You two need to talk, seriously"

"We did, just a few hours ago" He laughed sarcastically. Nelly's eyes got larger as she formed an 'O' with her mouth.

"Sorry, dude."

"I just really fucking miss her, I need her, I..." Two tears full with sadness and anger rolled down his cheeks and he quickly pushed them away. "But we need time"

"People always talk about time as if it's gonna solve everything... But maybe you're just losing it."

"I really don't need this right now, Nelly." He said. "I need to figure things out, and so does she. Trust me, I very much would like to be with her right now in this moment instead of being a drunk in some bar with you... No offense"

"None taken, don't you worry, love" She said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Let me tell you one thing, I feel that you two are meant to be, Wilmer. And no one will ever be able to change that except yourselves." Wilmer half smiled at the woman. "Demi is an amazing woman, and you both are perfect for each other..."

"Thanks, Nelly, it was nice talking to you, it really was". He said as he tried to stand up but the drinks he'd taken didn't let him do that with ease and he struggled to stand on his feet. "I'm... I'm gonna... Just going to go home." He said as he could feel the dizziness all around his brain, blurring his vision.

Nelly quickly got up to help Wilmer stay on his feet and, after paying, she took him outside.

"I don't think you should go alone, I'm just going to take you there in my car, yeah?" She said. Wilmer, too tired to argue, just nodded his head and walked with her towards the car where they both got into. "What's your adress?" She asked, but when she turned to look at him, he'd fallen asleep already. "Fuck." She cursed underneath her breath and then she started to shake the man sitting in the passenger's seat.

"Wilmer!" She almost yelled but he was too drowned in his sleep. "Ugh, this can't be happening, I swear to God" She mumbled and wondered what to do with him. She couldn't just take him home without talking about it with Mark first, specially after they'd argued so, though she was starting to hate herself for it, she drove towards Demi's apartment.

"Dem?" She whispered into the phone when the younger woman picked up her phone. "Nelly? What the flying fuck? It's freaking 4.30 am" Demi replied. Nelly could tell she'd woken her up. "I'm parked right in front of your apartment, can you please come down? Please, Demi, I'm begging you."

Demi grunted and got out of her bed with the phone still close to her ear as she put on her bathrobe and put on her slippers.

"Okay, okay, I'm going, is everything alright?" She asked, worried, as she took her keys and pressed the elevator button.

"Yeah, yeah, everything's just cool" Nelly nervously replied, afraid of how Demi would react when she'd realize what was going on.

Demi's face turned pale as if she'd just seen a ghost when she saw Wilmer asleep in Nelly's car.

"Nelly! What the fuck?!" She managed not to yell at her friend. Nelly gave her an apologetic smile. "I ran into him in a bar..."

"What? What were you even doing there?"

"Argued with Mark, but it's fine, don't worry. Anyways, he said he would go home but I found he was too drunk to go there by himself so I offered to bring him with my car but... He fell asleep and I can't seem to wake him up. I tried, honey, I really did but I don't know,... Sorry, love" She explained.

Demi's brown eyes put themselves on Wilmer and couldn't help but smile.

"And I can't just bring him to my home, y'know?"

A sigh came out of Demi's mouth before she ended up nodding her head.

"Okay, help me get him inside." She walked towards the passenger's seat where Wilmer was knocked out. "Wilmer, wake up, sweetie" She shook him softly at first and then a bit harder, also pronouncing his name louder until he finally opened his eyes.

"Am I dreaming?" He asked when he saw Demi's face, causing her to blush, but he would never notice that in he dark. "Come, get out of there." She whispered, taking his arm to help him out. Nelly took his other arm until they were in Demi's apartment and placed him on the couch.

"Do I have to... To sleep he-here?" He asked while Demi and Nelly hugged goodbye.

"Yes". Demi replied to his question as she took a blanket and gave it to him.

"Dem?"

Demi looked at him for a bit with a pillow in her hands before coming closer and sitting right next to him and placing the pillow behind his head.

"Thanks for letting me stay" He muttered, bringing a sweet little smile to Demi's lips, which she brought closer to his forehead to kiss him there. Wilmer couldn't help but inhale the smell of her while she just closed her eyes, him smelling like alcohol was triggering her in so many ways but she managed to try and brush it off.
