We stayed like this for minutes. Slowly,silence drifted between the both of us. It felt awkward. Nor one of us moved. My brain's still analyzing of what he had said earlier. But,for the first time hearing it,my heart fluttered. And, honestly, I'd be lying if I told you I don't like this feeling
"Hah!Finally!After such a long run!And a long panic!"Someone bursted into the door

Mephiles. Knuckles. Tails
Mephiles was the one who suddenly opened the door. Thankfully,they came. Or else,I can't imagine how long the awkwardness and uncomfortable feeling will be remaining in us both
"It's fine to knock"Shadow rolled his eyes,looking worriedly at me
"Are you okay?"He asked
"Yeah. It's fine"I reassured to him
It's surprising,that we can still talk into a normal conversation. I mean...it's like nothing happened earlier. I thought we'll be talking hesitantly on each other
"So,what happened?"Mephiles innocently sat on the couch
"Well, insomnia. Sonic haven't slept for 2 days. And now,he woke up 2:00 AM and never came back to sleep until 7:00 AM. Then,of course,it caused him headache. Badly"Shadow summarized
"Oh. So,are you fine now?"He asked
"Yeah"I smiled
"Where's your parents?"Knuckles asked
"They said they'll be out of town,because of something important about their work. Don't know why though"I truthfully said
"For how many days?"asked Tails
"I think...they said...one week?"I responded,looking at the ceiling,trying to remember their words
"Yeah. Definitely one week"I assure them
"Do you...want us to stay?"Mephiles asked
Shadow was about to sat something against the idea,but Mephiles cut him off
"I mean,look. You can't sleep right. You can't even eat right. And you are alone in your house. We never know. This incident might happen again. And perhaps,it can only be worse. So it's better if you at least,have someone in your house,or us even,so you won't be troubling to fall asleep and you can eat properly. Let me guess,you can't sleep,other than insomnia being the reason,but because you are alone in the house?"
I blushed. He's right. Insomnia is not the only reason I can't sleep,but the fact that I'm isolated here. I don't know if I'm isolated,but I feel like it
"Y-yeah"I said
"Then, it's settled. If you want us to be here then...but,do you?"
"Uh-huh"I nodded
He smiled
"Alright then. Besides...Shadow secretly wants it anyway"He muttered
But it was enough for us to hear,since we're the only two talking. We only laughed,except Shadow who glared at him
"We'll bring the necessaries. But,"Mephiles looked at Knuckles and Tails
"Are you guys allowed to?"He asked
"Yep. We already told them. Since I've been thinking this might happen"Knuckles said
"Good. Just wait for us Sonic"Mephiles said
"Wait, Mephiles"Shadow stopped them
"Just asking,from way to school,then coming here,did you just walk. Or perhaps,run?"
"Actually,yes"Mephiles shyly said
"You left your car in the school"Shadow face palmed
Mephiles expression turned into a shocked one
"Fuck"He cursed
"I brought my car anyway. If you want to get your car,you can go to school fastly. Here's the key. But,did you brought your car's key?"
"Y-yeah.. they're on my pocket. Thanks"He said and left us quickly
Even though Mephiles acts like a child sometimes, he never fails to look like our father figure. I mean,look. After his scolding lately. It's like, he's our father. Definitely,our father
"Hey,Sonic?"Shadow waved a hand in front of my face
"O-oh. Sorry. Just zoned out"I shook my head
"What are you thinking,then?"Shadow playfully asked
Playfully,I think
"He's like...a father figure. To us"I said my thoughts aloud this time
"Who?Mephiles?"
"Yeah"
"Oh,he's been always like that. Ever since we were only a child,he's the one taking care of me. Telling me not to touch that,eat that,or play with that. He even sung a lullaby to me just to make me fall asleep. Even though he can be an idiot sometimes"Shadow smiled
"Yeah"
We sat there in silence,but,the silence was replaced by us,talking. We took our time talking,as we're patiently waiting for the others
