Author's POV

Two weeks later. As the students typical routine in home and school. But to Sonic,those two weeks were special. Shadow and him became closer. He get to know Shadow more. Even though in two weeks,some miracles have already been happening,right?The two always had their moments together. Like,when Scourge almost bullied Sonic,Shadow stood up to them

Sonic was eating lunch alone. Knuckles and Tails had group projects and planned to do it on their free time

"Hey squirt"A familiar voice said

Sonic looked up on the figure,noticing it was Scourge,Sonic avoided the eye contact and fidget with his fingers

"Why are you alone?Did your friends already leave you alone? Oh,I know why. It's because you're a bitch that's why they left you,right?"He grinned

Sonic didn't response, which made Scourge impatient

"Yo-"

"Hey"A voice called

Scourge looked at the source of the voice smugly,expecting Knuckles or Tails. But his smug expression quickly turned into surprised and annoyed ones

"What the fuck are you doing to him?Leave him alone"Shadow scowled making the said hedgehog sneered and clenched his fists in fury

Shadow wasn't suppose to be on Sonic's side,right?What the hell is going on here?

"Why are you fucking defending him?Did he brainwashed you or something?That's new to you,Shadow!You stood up to the ones you bully huh. Fan-fucking-tastic"Scourge clapped

Shadow scoffed

"I can defend who I want. No one can tell me what to do. I stand up for my own decisions,and one of them is defending Sonic from the shits like you"Shadow smirked

Scourge just throw his hands on air in anger before he stood up and glared at the azure hedgehog then leave

"You alright?"Shadow asked,taking a seat beside Shadow

"Y-yeah. Thanks"Sonic smiled

He himself never even expected Shadow to defend him

And the one when Sonic helped Shadow on his study

Sonic was walking inside the library, obviously wanting to student about their difficult Math. He noticed Shadow,his hands on his head and his face turning red, his face showing impatience

"Hey Shads"Sonic called him quietly,but enough for him to hear

Shadow looked at the younger one. Shadow smiled. He had that nickname from Sonic

"Yo"He nodded

"What 'cha doin'?"Sonic asked

"Studying Math. Which is a fucking struggle"Shadow said a loud

The students shushed them

"Oh fuck off"Shadow scoffed at them,whom only turned on their books

Sonic chuckled

"You shouldn't do that"Sonic said

"Yeah,sorry"Shadow said

"Do you...want me to help?"Sonic asked

Shadow looked at the azure hedgehog,who's eyes are showing sincerity. Shadow became delighted of what he had heard,he was happy to hear the azure hedgehog want to help him. But,he didn't want to bother him. He too need to study,he'll only be a waste of time

"No thanks,it's f-"

"No,it's okay. I don't understand some of them too,so maybe we could figure it out together. Besides, it's fine to help. Since you defend me to Scourge"Sonic smiled

Shadow couldn't help but smile back and thanked him

Shadow never expected that Sonic will help him

And now,they are laughing in the time of their lunch. They are with Mephiles and Knuckles and Tails. Sonic's two friends was now fine with Shadow and Mephiles. They all are having a little chit-chat on their own,not noticing the glares Scourge and the others giving

"Shadow's always mad at me. Like he have a period"Mephiles playfully rolled his eyes

"Fuck you. Irritating me and annoying me,who can't be mad at that?"Shadow frowned

"See?"Mephiles laughed

They all laughed

"Hey,I don't notice Amy being present in the school anymore. Where'd you think she is now?"Tails asked

"Yeah... perhaps she's just busy?Last week I texted her,she just replied she's busy with her family"Sonic explained

"Maybe a personal problem?"Mephiles asked

"Don't put your nose into someone you don't know"Shadow scolded

"Come on,such a kill joy. I just cared"Mephiles rolled his eyes

Knuckles merely chuckled.

"By the way,how was your exams?"Mephiles asked

"Hmm...my Math one failed,but the rest are passed"Knuckles said

"I'm sure the other three passed"Mephiles gestured to Tails,Sonic,and Shadow

"All thanks to Sonic's help in Math"Shadow smiled

"Wait,you helped Shadow and you didn't help me?!"Knuckles cried out dramatically

"I didn't know. Sorry. It's just a coincidence that Shadow was studying in Math,and I was planning to do so too"Sonic shyly smiled

"It's fine"Knuckles chuckled

Once the bell ringed,the boys started to pack their things inside their bag

"Well,see you later"Sonic waved as they go to their different classes
