The next day we all flew back to Atlantic City. Three days later was the funeral.

Jake, Ashley and Dad offered to pay for all the funeral expenses.

I looked in the mirror, my eyes still a little bloodshot from all the crying, finishing my make up. Best I keep it subtle and light since I didn't want to have my tears ruin everything

Since I recieved the news, I've spent so much time crying that I'm surprised I haven't dehydrated myself.

My grandparents were beautiful, kind souls. They took care of me and my mother until they couldn't anymore.

Loosing my grandfather was painful, but now that my grandmother is gone, I feel empty and heartbroken.

She meant the entire world to me.

I finished applying my lipstick before looking in the mirror. I wore a simple black dress that reached up to my knees with a black lace shawl over my shoulders, and black suede pumps, my hair in a half-up style.

I then noticed her rosary laid upon my jewelry box and I picked it up, holding it in my hands.

That's when I hear the door open and I turn to see Remington at the door. Her wore a black dress shirt with a black vest and tie, and black skinny jeans with boots, his make up done as he always does but smallish.

He gave me a sad look as he walked over.

"We're almost ready to go. Your dad went ahead with your mom and Jake to settle final preparations at the church with the priest," he said.

I sniffled and nodded before looking down at the rosary in my hands as he walked up and knelt down next to me, his arm around my waist.

"Did I ever tell you the story of when my grandmother got this?" I asked.

"Just that your grandfather gave it to her," he said.

"It was an anniversary gift. My grandmother was pregnant with my mom, and they found out they were having a girl the day before. So my grandfather gave it to her, along with her favorite flowers... Lavender...." I said, smiling nostalgically as I remember the story.

Remington smiled softly as I looked at the rosary, then felt my smile falls as a single tear fell.

"She died not remembering that... Or anything else," I whimpered as Remington pulled me into his arms, cooing softly as I cried into his shoulders, rubbing my back.

"Hey, hey, sshhhh, its okay, babe," he said. "I know this may sound cliche, but she's at peace now. She doesn't have to keep having her brain waste away and going weak every once in a while, she's not suffering."

I looked at him as he softly wiped my tears away.

"She was a good woman, who raised a strong daughter and an amazing granddaughter," He said. "She'll always be remembered for her good heart, and now she's reunited with your grandfather."

I took a deep breath. "I'm just gonna miss her so much..."

"I know... She was a good woman," he said as I pressed my forehead against his shoulder. He kissed my cheek before hugging me.

"Thank you for being with me today... I don't think I would have been able to go through this with just my parents or family members and stuff," I said, hugging him.

"Anything for you, babe," he said, his palm gently holding my cheek before he leaned in and kissed me softly.
