At first they were freaked out. I mean have you heard some of that music? God it's so depressing. And they don't want you to be sad or depressed. But then they thought about some of the situations they've been in, situations or aftermaths that actually made them feel exactly what that singer is singing about. God, that music was good. Kinda. They loved that you actually talk about your feelings, maybe even wrote stories / poems / in a notebook. They'd rather have this than someone who never talks about anything personal. As for the clothes and make up. You do do you. They're not in any position to tell what to wear. If you like it, they like it.
