Leonardo was mad. Not that he showed it but he was. He ordered all of his brothers to the dojo to train but his younger brother Raphael didn't show up. Leo was somewhat used to Raph doing his own thing, never listening to him and running away. But today was different, especially after last night where they barely escaped the Shredder and his peasants.
Leo walked straight to Raph's room and without knocking he entered. If was then when he saw something he'd never thought he would see. Raph was sitting on his bed, arms wrapped around his legs, head on his knees and ... crying.
"You could at least knock you fool", his younger brother said.
"I ... I'm sorry I didn't", Leo started.
"Think? Yeah you never do", Raph gave back and continued to look down and cry.
Leo took a step towards his brother before stopping again. He's never been in a situation like that and he didn't know what to do. Should he comfort him or just walk away?
"What happened?", he then asked.
"None of your business", Raph said.
"It is. You're my brother and I care about you."
"As if. You only care about yourself and you fucking training!"
Leo swallowed hard. He hated it when his brothers used the F-word. It just wasn't nice to hear.
"I do that because I want everyone to become better", he explained.
"You can't force us to do anything okay? You just don't see and get it. The only thing we do is train and workout and when it comes to it we don't stand a chance. Fuck. We almost died yesterday Leo. DIED. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?", Raph screamed and finally looked up to his big brother.
He then began to sob which made Leo walk closer to him. He sat down on his bed and just looked at him. Seeing his tall, muscular brother cry so much really hurt him. Deep down he knew Raph was right. It was really close yesterday.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for failing you. I just want everyone to be on top of their game and I can't even protect you in situations like that. Maybe I shouldn't be so hard on you but focus more on myself", Leo suggested.
"You already focus too much on yourself. Fuck Leo, you have to let loose. Give yourself and us some time off. Let Donnie make an experiment, let Mikey play a video and don't get angry at it. We need some free time you know", Raph said.
"I try. I'm just used to a lot of discipline ...", Leo started.
"That you put on yourself", Raph said.
Leo just nodded.
"Come here", he then said and pulled his brother into a hug.
"I swear if you tell Mikey or Donnie anything about this I will kill you", Raph said but Leo felt how he slowly relaxed.
That hug was unexpected but good. And well needed. Leo laughed a little.
"I promise I won't tell. And I will try to give you some time off", Leo assured him.
