Chapter Four: Unexpected Reunion

Start from the beginning

"So why is it I smell more demon blood in your veins than last time?" Inuyasha asked.

"Bankostu and Renkostu." Nayumi said in a cold voice.

"You let humans land a fatal blow?" Inuyasha asked.

"Renkostu's steal strings cut me and I lost a lot of blood. Of course I didn't let a human 'kill' me!" Nayumi snapped.

"Sounds like it to me." Inuyasha mumbled.

"Sit." Kagome said.

"What did I do this time!" Inuyasha exclaimed.

"You're being rude. " Kagome replied.

"Can't teach an old dog new tricks. He'll always be rude. It's in his nature." Nayumi shrugged.

"So, what 'demon' are you exorcising today?" Nayumi asked.

"A demonic aurora hangs over this village."  Miroku replied.

"I don't feel it." Nayumi said with a raised eyebrow.

"No one else does." Sango sighed.

"Don't get killed on the mountain." Nayumi said; standing to leave.

"You're leaving?" Shippo asked.

"Nothing for me here." Nayumi shrugged.

"Why don't you travel with us?" Sango asked.

"Inuyasha and I would kill eachother." she laughed, "Plus, I'm better off on my own."

"Inuyasha use to think that." Kagome laughed.

"Don't compare me to a demon. Even a half-demon." Nayumi said in a cold voice, then left.

"She really doesn't like demons." Sango sighed.

"Can you blame her? Her whole clan, and family, were slaughtered by demons, and now her sister travels with them." Miroku said.

"I'm in the same boat as her, but I don't hate all demons." Sango said.

"Inuyasha, Shippo, and Kilala are all still alive; how much can she really hate them?" Miroku pointed out.

"she wouldn't hesistate to kill me if I was't useful to her." Inuyasha added.

"Do you not remember your first fight with her?" Miroku asked.

"How can I forget? She almost killed me." Inuyasha snapped.

"When she reallized you could touch the strings that connected the blades to her veins she stopped fighting as hard. She wanted you to kill her. She refuses to bare a demon's child, so she knows the only other way to escape the curse is to be killed." Mirokiu explained.

"I didn't notice her back off any." Inuyasha grumbled.

"We did." Sango laughed.

As Nayumi was leaving the village she felt a demonic presence and sensed two jewel shards.

"You again?" Koga asked; coming to a stop in front of her.

"Keep walking before I kill you." Nayumi replied and walked past him.

"Hey, you're bleeding." Koga said and grabbed her arm.

"Release me, demon." Nayumi said in a cold voice.

"Koga! We finally caught up to you! Oh, hey Nayumi." Ginta said; Hakkaku standing next to him.

"Is that blood I smell?" Hakkaku asked.
