Chapter 38

After a little David had to go. Angela came back and we had our lunch.. Little later I got dropped off at my house. When I walked in my mom and dad were gone to my aunts house who needed help with decorations.
When I opened the door I heard footsteps
"Alex are you home?" I said closing the door
No respons
"Alex?" I made few more steps and walked into the living room, no one was there..
I am getting scared right now. I was my dads baseball bat that hand on the wall because it was his favorite bat, he use to play every week but after he got problems with his back he stoped playing... I picked up the bat and walked very quietly to the sound of the steps. I passed kitchen and it was empty, when I was about to turn I felt someone behind me, I raised the bat and when I was about to hit, I closed my eyes and scream "Get out of my house"

Someone stoped it... "I know you hate me but not that much"
I opened my eyes and saw Alex standing with light bulb in one hand and holding my dads bat  in other.

"You scared me" I said still holding the bat
"How, I was only changing the light bulbs" Alex said
"I said your name bunch of times but you never responded"
"Oh that, I was listening to the music" Alex said with a smile
Just when he said that I noticed he had EarPods in his ears
"Now can I put this away? Or you still want to kill me?" He said
"Oh sorry" I took my hand off the bat
"Its okay" he said "Cant you help me with something?"
"sure" I said trying not to look at him
"Could you hold ladder for me?" He said looking at me with a smirk. He knew I felt bad
"Why do you need ladder?" I said
"Your mom asked me to change some light bulbs around the house" he said
"Why cant dad do it?" I said looking at him
"He said his back hurts"

Few minutes later I was holding the ladder and Alex was changing light bulbs.
I felt like I was standing there with no purpose he would of been fine without my help. He is pretty tall and he downs need to clime very high
"How was the shopping today?" He said
"It was okay"
"You don't sound too happy. I though girls loved shopping with friends" Ale said
"I guess I am not one of those girl" I said not even looking at him
"Are you holding the latter properly?" He said
"Why wouldn't I?"
"I don't know you almost killed me today"
"It was an accident" I said toyed
"Hold these" he gave me couple old light bulbs
"Btw you are invited to the boys party tonight" I said
" All done" he said getting down "Babe its called Bachelors party" he said standing on the first step of the ladder and looking at me
"I know how its called, but David said they are going to be watching soccer and chatting"
"David? Your crush David" Alex said
"Why does everyone thinks I still like him?" I was mad
"Aren't you?" He looked suspicious
"Of corse I don't. Past is past, plus I never liked him too much"
"So your heart is open now for new adventures?" He said leaning forward making me blush
"my heart is open for someone who would truly love me, and wont go flirting with every girl he meets"
He looked at me and I felt like I am getting myself into the ocean of emotion. He was looking in my eyes and I saw and felt something that I never felt with anyone...
"No one particular?" He said
Oh no, what would I say. What if he doesn't like me and we still have few more months to live together..
"I will let you know when I will meet that kinda of a guy" I said.... Pause
"Well, than be careful babe, people not always as good as you think about them. Don't let anyone break your heart, no one deserves a broken heart" he said than and got off the ladder and walked away.. what was that?
