"Oh, Dad," Nami breathed out and Avery let out a sigh. That's because Nami didn't know.

"Mom didn't say you were coming too," she breathed out.

"Last minute decision," Nami's father kissed her on the forehead and Avery stepped forward. She was always afraid of the Ohs. Anytime she was around them, she was judged.

"Mr. and Mrs. Oh," she gave her best smile and Mrs Oh was the first to turn to her.

"Avery," she nodded. "You still haven't tamed your hair either."

"I like my hair like this remember?" Avery shook her hand. This is a regular conversation between the two.

"I still don't understand why," Lauren shook her head and Avery glanced at Nami who gave her a helpless look back. There's nothing she can do to control her parents.

"Mr. Oh," Avery shook her and he smiled at her.

"Avery, how are you?" He asked. "Still into art?"

"Yes sir, you caught me on a good day. Yesterday I was covered, head to toe with acrylic paint."

The sound of distaste from Mrs. Oh made Avery step back a bit.

"How are your business classes going?" The older woman asked.

"Very well,"

"Good, at least you'll have a chance at a real career," She replied and Nami bit down on her tongue to keep from snapping back at her mother.

"Art would be a real career too,"

"Oh darling, you're not Da Vinci,"

Avery opened her mouth to snap at her but Nami stepped in.

"So we were thinking dinner," Nami grabbed her mother's attention. "Our treat at this great Italian place."

"I don't particularly want Italian,"

"Darling," Mr. Oh muttered and Mrs. Oh sighed.

"But thank you for the gesture, dinner sounds great."

"How about sushi mom?" Nami asked and for the first time since she stepped into the apartment, Lauren Oh gave a genuine smile.

"That sounds delicious,"

As they were leaving the apartment, Mrs. Oh scuffed a foot onto the floor before a tsk left her lips. "You need to wax these floors, I'll send someone in to do so for you."

"That's not necessary," Avery began but Nami shook her head.

"That's very thoughtful of you, Mother, thank you."

"Avery, tell me, how's Cameron?" Mrs Oh asked and Nami tensed up.

The topic of Cameron hadn't been brought up in a while and Nami wasn't sure she could listen for long before she opened her mouth to remind everyone how evil Cameron Brings is.

"He's good, we're good." Avery replied before stuffing a sushi roll in her mouth. She didn't want to speak more on her boyfriend but Mrs Oh wasn't done.

"I'm glad you're settling down and actually planning for the future." She glance at her daughter while casually sipping her jasmine tea.
