I was sitting in my room looking out the window, imagining if Connor was still here.

I missed him so much. I could never forgive my mother for what she had done.

I then heard a knock at my door.

"Chloe. What are you doing?" she asked

I just ignored her.

"Chloe Ava Matthews answer me now!" she demanded

I kept quiet.

She came and sat on my bed.

"Look, I know you're upset that your friend died but just think about it. He wasn't following the rules." she said

"And he was Divergent." I mutter under my breath.

"What?" my mother said

"Nothing." I say quietly

"Chloe, there's something I need to talk to you about." she says

"What?" I asked seeming puzzled

"You have to take an intelligance test." she says

"What? Why?" I ask

"The supervisors need to see if someone blood related to me has the same IQ score as me." she says

"Do I have to?" I ask

"Yes." she says

"When and where will this take place?" I ask

"Tomorrow at noon in the final testing room." she replies

"Um is this safe?" I ask

"Of course. They just need to test you to see if you're IQ matches mine." she says

I honestly didn't want to take the test.

"I will take you to the test at 10:30 tomorrow." she says

"Why do they need to know if I have to the same intelligance score as you?" I ask

"We need to see if someone as strong, intelligantly as me, could be born." she states

"Um ok?" I say sounding more like a question

"Well you better get a good night sleep so you will do good in the test tomorrow." she says

"Okay." I say

I crawl into bed and my mother turns off the lights and walks out of the room closing the door behind her.

THE NEXT DAY

"Chloe. Get up. It's time for you to get ready." my mother says

I slowly crawl out of bed and headed straight to the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair.

When I was done, I came out and found my clothes laid out on my bed and my mother standing with a straightening iron.

I got dressed and motioned for her to give me the straightening iron, but she wouldn't.

"Sit down. I can do it for you." she said

"Ok." I said

She began straightening my hair. After 10 minutes, I headed downstairs and ate some breakfast.

After I finished I went to brush my teeth again and then we left.

My mom decided that today her driver would bring us.

It was about a 5 minute car ride.

Once we arrived, I walked slowly into the building with my mother leading the way.
