David Hertz

A knock on the door came prior to Lydia walking into my office, she found me at my desk, looking through some reports. I looked up just in time to see her stroll to my desk.

"David, uhm..." She chooses her words carefully. "Are you okay?" She asked while she stood in front of my desk.

"Yeah, Lydia, I'm fine," I answered,

"Okay. ...The guys and I are heading out for lunch, do you need anything, perhaps I can grab you something to eat."

"No. you can go ahead, I probably have another five to ten minutes before I head out."

"Why, are you okay?"

"I'm fine. You can take the rest of the day off too. I'd not be needing any more of your services."

She looked sad.

"Alright. If you ever need anything, do not hesitate to call, I'm just a block away from you." She said and turned to leave.

"Wait, one more thing-"

"I don't care about whatever reason you had to lie about the nature of the relationship, but I'd appreciate it if you don't go around spreading such rumors, we had a contract, and any more situations like this I would be forced to terminate it indefinitely. Have I made myself clear?"

"Yes. I'm sorry."

"That would be all for today, you can leave."

I had to win back her trust.

My initial plan was to cook for her tonight, but with all the project and conference calls that plan was shoved out the window,

So I sent Micheal to grab take-out menus from all the five-star restaurants he could find in the city. Hopefully, she was not on a diet.

I brushed that aside and tried to focus on work. I had to get the papers ready and running in a month, at least by then she would be acquainted with how to run the business.

I worked for a few extra hours and glanced at my watch. It was time to head home. I arranged the files on my desk and went home.

I stepped into the kitchen a few minutes later and reviewed the menus from the different restaurants Micheal was able to find,

There were varieties of them from Italian, Chinese, India, and even Mexico,

I stared at them a bit confused,

I was aware she liked Chinese and Italian,
