Day 3 at the hospital. I'm hoping the Doctor would come soon to explain everything. I don't feel anything anyway. I want to go home.

"Lexie," Allen says as he enters the room. "The doctor will be here soon."

I roll my eyes. "Hopefully!" I mutter in annoyance.

"Now there's my feisty Lexie!" Allen chides. "Now I know you really are feeling a lot better," he says laughing. He messes up my hair and kisses my head. "I love you wonder twin," he whispers. "Nothing will happen to you, not when I'm around" he assures me.

"Good morning Allen," the doctor says. I look at him wondering how he knows Allen. And it's Doctor Chen, my Mom's oncologist. "Hello, Alex," he smiles at me. "Hate the hospital, yeah?"

I nod, vigorously. "Please tell me I'm going home today." I beg him.

Dr. Chen smiles. "Your Parents asked me to administer tests on you, just to be sure, you know." He explains, not answering my question though. "Since your family has history, and you somehow exhibited symptoms, it is best to test, right?" He asks as if he needed approval. But hey everything's done anyway. I just want to know what's wrong.

"So what's wrong with me, doc?" I asked. "How long do I still have," I laugh, trying to lighten the situation.

Allen flicks my arm. "Stop with those jokes, Lexie," he sternly warns me. He glares at me.

"Ok kids, no one is dying here," the good doctor laughs. Both Allen and I chuckle with him. That's a relief, I thought. I'm also thinking Allen feels the same way as he losens his tight grip on my arm.

"On the contrary," the doctor says smiling. "Uhm, I have good, better and best news." He cryptically says.

Allen and I look at each other with "whatthefuck" written all over our face. Doctor Chen is a funny doctor. This is why my parents love him. He always sees the good in things. Which scares me because again, it might ne something worse, really. He might just be trying to sweeten it for now.

"First of all," Doctor Chen says. Shit. I don't like sentences that start with "first of all".

"I took the liberty to tell your parents first about your results, since they were the ones who requested for it. So my apologies." He explains. This only hightens my anxiety. All the good feeling I had awhile ago, gone.

I reach out for Allen's hand. I'm just too damn scared.

"Good news," the doctor says. "Based on initial tests, you seem to be cleared of cancer," he says as a matter of fact. "But you need to come back, at least a year after, for regular checks, ok?" He writes down on his clipboard.

What a relief! My face lighten ups and Allen gives me a tight hug. "I told you so! Not on my watch." Allen whispers to me.

"But you have gastroesophageal reflux disease. This has been causing you to have an upset stomach, which you had in the past week, right?" He asks me.

I nod. Guilty as charged. The doctor explained further that me not eating regularly lately made this even worse. Allen flicks my arms and raises a brow on me, mentally scolding, I could tell.

"Ouch!" I yell as I rub my arm. I didn't say anything anymore because I know I deserved that anyway.

"Kids! Stop that!" Doctor Chen laughs. "Allen, please make sure Alex here eats regularly, I will give you a meal plan for her to follow. At least for the next two weeks until the acids neutralizes. That's key to recovery." He instructs Allen.

"We can go home now, right?" Allen sounds excited.

"Oh yes," the doctor smiles again. "I will give discharge orders and you can leave about lunch time.

"Yes!" I raise my two hands in jubilation. I can't wait to talk to Harry. I know he'll be super happy of this development.

"But, I'm not done yet," Doctor Chen adds. Oh yeah, he said better and best. But what can be better than cancer-free?

"Doc, what's better than being cancer-free?" Allen pipes in. Same wavelength. We're twins alright. I smile at the thought.

"Well, I told you earlier, no ones dying, right?" The doctor says.

Both of us nod.

"Something's living," he smiles brightly, like he's excited. With what? My heart lurches. I'm getting a feeling. You know how they say women have intuition? Holy fu...

"You're pregnant!" Doctor Chen says cheerfully.

My eyes widen in surprise. Allen looks at me in disbelief. His mouth hanging wide open.

"And the best news is?" I asked in a confused state.

"You're having twins!" Doctor Chen claps!

Mic drop.
