My name is Rosalie Hendrix. I am 18 years old, and I am a deaf mute.
I wasn't born like this. For the first 16 years of my life, I was a perfectly normal teenager. I was a bellerina, I had been dancing for 13 years. I played field hockey. I was a swimmer. A straight A student. And not to sound conceited, but I WAS fairly pretty. Until June 28, 2010. 5 days after my 16th birthday. I was in my new silver Audi. Me and my boyfriend Trevor were talking, laughing, just joking around. I was at a red light, when all of a sudden, a car sped out of nowhere, slamming into mine; hitting directly into my side of the car. I can't remember anything, that's just what I was told happened.
Doctors don't know how I survived. I suffered multiple brain injuries, and many many broken bones. I went through 12 surgeries. The results of the accident now are I have a 6 inch scar running from my right temple across the right side of my head. I can no longer hear. or speak, because the impact ripped my vocal cords.
Despite my...handicaps, I finished highschool, and am a fashion designer/makeup artist in London, and had just received my new assignment; I was in charge of One Direction.
