Pippa's POV

Rehearsals were going well. Things were falling into place perfectly for everyone. People were getting along with one another and I couldn't be happier by myself. This had to be the perfect life. I rolled out of bed looking out my window at the buildings in my way. I sighed at the sight, thinking how lucky I was to be in this spot in my life. My phone was lit up with texts from the cast asking what people were doing today. We were only a week into rehearsals and we were working slowly through the music to make sure everyone was going to get it. I smiled at the texts from Oak and Daveed. Both of them were hilarious. Jasmine's were pretty normal, asking which routines we were going through. I shrugged and didn't reply since I didn't have answers. Maybe we should run through some interesting ones today.

When I got to the theatre, mostly everyone was already there. Renee wasn't coming in until later because she had a parent teacher conference for her kid. So that blew out whatever numbers she had with me to rehearse. Jasmine sat next to Oak and Leslie, singing for a video they were doing together. I smiled at their happy faces. I was glad she was back to being happy. After her breakup she wasn't really the same girl for a few days. Things were a bit dark, but now she was okay. I couldn't help but watch her though. She was really pretty, had an amazing personality... Liked almost all of the same things I liked.... Pippa no. She's your friend. You went on like three dates with different girls and none of them went well. None of them were her... Wait... Was I really comparing everyone I attempted to go out with to Jasmine? I couldn't be. No. She probably didn't even like me in that way anyway.

After a while, it was mainly ensemble and the guys working on their songs. Jasmine scrolled through instagram while I read one of the ebooks for this show. I wanted to know more about the role I was playing and how it had impacted the world in such a way now.

"What are you reading?" She asked while leaning on my side.

"That book Lin wrote. I'm really just skimming through and highlighting the parts with his and Eliza's life so I can read them later." I shrugged. She nodded and rested her head on my shoulder. I didn't mind. She was probably tired. Everyone was. "So how have you been with the whole single life?" I asked her.

"It's quiet." She frowned.

"I'm sorry." I frowned. "You'll find someone. I'm sure of it." I said while highlighting another paragraph. She nodded and didn't move. I didn't mind her reading over my shoulder but it was getting harder to move my shoulder. I didn't want to move her though... I wasn't going to make her move either. I liked her leaning on me like this... I couldn't help but feel nervous at the same time... She smelled so good too. Her perfume wasn't too strong but it was enough to smell like flowers and amazing things, I don't know how to explain it.

"Sorry I'm late! The meeting ran a little long." Renee shouted. I looked over at her and she waved at us. Lac and Tommy nodded at her while she sat with us in the audience seats. "What did I miss?" She asked.

"They were running through the songs without you. Mainly Aaron Burr, Sir and the few that come right after that. But nothing much."I shrugged. Jasmine nodded and lifted up her head from my shoulder. "Things we can easily catch up on." I laughed. "How was the meeting?" I asked.

"Oh it's was fine." She started talking about how her kid was doing really well in school and how they wanted to test them for the advanced classes in school. I smiled at her, knowing she would have these super smart kids. I could only hope that my kids in the future would be half as smart as hers. Well, they might. Depending on who I breed with....

"Alright, lets run through the opening number but on stage so that way we can hear what it's going to sound like." Tommy called. I threw my phone into my bag and stood up while stretching.

"I got so comfortable..." Jasmine pouted.

"Come on. Up." I laughed while grabbing her hands. She groaned and let me help her up. I realized that I was still holding her hand, but I didn't know what to do... I guess I could just keep holding it until she pulls away... We walked hand in hand to the stage and Renee laughed at us. "What?" I asked.

"Afraid she's going to get lost?" She asked me.

"Yes." I laughed with her. Jasmine smiled and grabbed Renee's hand with her other free hand.

"I mean, I am the youngest sister." She said sarcastically.

"Technically I am... I just play your older sister." I winked. Jasmine gasped and let go of Renee's hand. "I'm only a year younger than you." I shrugged. She nodded and looked around at the stage that was still being modified for us. I looked down hands and felt nervous again. She was still holding it... What if she was only holding it because I hadn't let go yet? Or because she felt awkward too? Oh god... So many things to think about... I felt her hand let go of mine and I looked at her.

"Are you nervous too?" She asked while wiping her hand on her shirt.

"Maybe... It's a lot to take in..." I mumbled. It was a lot to take in.

"Your hands were clammy and sweaty... It's alright. It's not like we're performing just yet." She smiled. I frowned and quickly wiped my hands on my pants. God I was overthinking so much I ruined the moment. Whatever kind of moment that was...
