Alastor Hamilton, an immigrant and orphan, arrived in New York City in 1776, making friends with Vincent Burr, who is also an orphan himself and graduate of Princeton College. This fic has taken me a long time to write solely because of the ending. The real life Alexander died in a duel like his son did, and the irony hurts.
