After arriving back on dry land,
And changing into new clothes,
We get our things settled in the tent.
"I'll take the middle!" calls Ella.
"I guess I'll take the right," I say and unroll my blue sleeping bag.
Once we've placed all of our bags,
Ella shows us how to start a fire.
At first, it's only a lot of smoke
But then a few wisps of flame pop up,
Catching the sticks on fire.
The wood crackles as it becomes immersed in the flame.
Ella holds up a package of hot dogs and a roasting stick.
"Dinner, anyone?" She askes.
I grab a stick and a sausage and let it sit over the embers,
Slowly spinning it.
Adalie takes her sausage and runs it back and forth through the flames
Trying not to let it catch on fire.
Ella places her, directly in the fire and charrs the outside.
She has to stop and put out the flames a few times.
