It's the man who I saw at the supermarket yesterday.
He looks confused as to why two dripping wet girls are standing on his doorstep.
I don't even know that he is with Adalie
But I take a shot in the dark.
"Uh, hello," I say.
"We're friends of Adalie's."
Recognition floods his face.
"Ah!" He says, speaking with a heavy French accent.
"I met you at the supermarket the other day."
Ella shoots me a quizzical look, which I ignore.
"Come in," he says to us, and we walk in the doorway.
