"Where's breakfast?" Ella asks as we walk down to the kitchen the next morning.
"Good morning to you too," her dad says.
She doesn't blink.
"Where is breakfast?" She asks again.
"Someone used all the butter and eggs," Ella's dad tells her
And gives the two of us a knowing smile.
"And someone ate most of our cookies while they were cooling," Ella shoots back.
"Touché," her dad says, sitting back in his seat.
"But because of the absence of cookies
- and I am not admitting I had anything to do with that-
We still have no real breakfast.
Let's go to town and get some food before your brother and mom wake up."
We comply, and soon I find myself browsing the isles of the nearest grocery store
For butter and eggs.
Out of the corner of my eye I see a familiar blue silk scarf
And a waterfall of brown hair.

A/n: hmm..... Also I'm heading back home today so the posting schedule will return to normal!
