She left a rose in my locker today.
A rose!
Deep red petals curved around a thornless stem.
Save for one thorn
That pricked my finger
As soon as I plucked the rose from between
My history book
And math homework.
But I pick it off
And inhale the scent of the flower.
If there anything as beautiful as a red rose?
I think not.

A/n: here's a cool fact. This story was based off of this scene alone. I had the idea of a girl getting a red rose in her locker from a girlfriend and from there I spun the story to get Maddie and Adalie.
