"Somehow, I don't think we'll be able to finish our marathon today."
"I know. But we can't leave it unfinished either!"
"Then I guess we'll just have to do this again."
"If this is your way of asking me out on a date, it sucks."
" *laughs* Really?"
"Really."
"Then educate me, Hayles. How do I ask a girl out on a date?"
"Well, first you take her hand, of course."
"Of course."
"Then you lean in close."
"Like this?"
"Um. Uh, ye-yeah."
"And then?"
" *deep breath* Then you, um, you say, xyz, whatever the person's name is, I really like you and I think you're great. Will you go on a date with me?"
"Okay. Hayley, whatever the person's name is, I really like you and I think you're great. Will you go out on a date with me?"
"There. That's good. Except the part after my name. That's not required."
"Oh okay. Hey, I think I can do one better. Want to see?"
"Um okay."
"So I lean in, plant a butterfly kiss on your cheek-"
"Uh. Uh. O-okay."
"And I ask you my question."
"Uh-huh."
"Hayley, I really really like you and I think you're amazing. You're probably the most amazing woman I've ever met, after my mother, and I really want to see where this goes. So... will you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes."
"Oh thank God."

"For the record, I really really like you too."
