The Oil

EXODUS CHAPTER 27

Memory Verse

    And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.
Exodus 27:20 NKJV

God's Word

    Oil
       : a type of oil that is used as a fuel to produce heat or light

  The oil signifies the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit in our lives we cannot continue the work that God has given us.

   Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.
Zechariah 4:6b NKJV

   The lamp is our body on which the Holy Spirit dwells for us to keep burning.

   Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
I Corinthians 3:16 NKJV

  And we must ask God for the Holy Spirit to be received by us in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 7:39 NKJV

   Jesus is soon to come, without the Holy Spirit in our lives we cannot enter the Kingdom of God. Let us receive the Holy Spirit by believing in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let the fire in our hearts keep burning. Learn from this story:

    “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.  Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.  Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,  but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.  But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’  Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.  And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’  But the wise answered, saying, ‘ No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’  And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’  But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour  in which the Son of Man is coming.
Matthew 25:1‭-‬13 NKJV

   Let the oil continually flow to us so that the enemy will never hand over us.

God's Character

   He is Spirit

God's Promises

   He will keep me burning with His Holy Spirit

Life Application

   I will always be hunger and thirst in the Spirit of God. So that I may do what God's will is. I will always be prepared for His coming.
