This is a coming of age faith story set in Kingston, Jamaica. It follows Akiel Reid, a young man raised in hardship and absence, shaped by a single mother working to keep the family together. His early life is marked by struggle, bullying, and quiet drift away from structure and purpose. Everything shifts when a serious medical condition affects his foot, leading to hospital admission and surgery. In pain and fear, he makes a sincere promise to God, asking for healing in exchange for a life of service. He recovers and begins a new spiritual journey, including church attendance and baptism. As time passes, his emotions do not match his expectations. He feels distant, uncertain, and frustrated. That internal conflict leads him back into old patterns and distractions. Yet even in his return to the world, the promise he made does not leave him. The story explores faith, brokenness, recovery, and the tension between spiritual commitment and human struggle. It centers on the idea that even when a person steps away, God remains present and consistent.

This is an anthology of hundreds of poems written within 3 years. These poems were arts of my mind, reeducation of my soul, and therapy for my heart. Thank you for reading.

Though I was raised in a Christian family, I didn't truly believe in God for a long time. In fact, I used to make fun of people I saw praying in church, thinking it was all for show. I lived my life far from faith, but God had a different plan for me. ​Everything changed the day God reached out and transformed my heart. What began as a skeptical life turned into a profound, daily experience with the living God. I went from mocking the faithful to receiving spiritual visions and hearing His voice guide me. Today, my life is completely surrendered to Jesus. ​This path hasn't always been easy. Because I chose to follow Christ, the enemy has tried to attack me many times, attempting to break my spirit and destroy my peace. But every single time, Jesus has been my protector. He has saved me from every trap and shielded my heart from every darkness. ​I am living proof that Jesus loves everyone unconditionally. I experience His grace, His mercy, and His overwhelming love every single day of my life. ​My message to you is simple: Jesus loves you. No matter where you are or what you have done, His arms are open. ​Praise the Lord!

My story's not too complicated, but God has worked in my life countless times, so after reading a wonderful Christian testimony, I decided to share this with everyone. ;) ❤

Would I considered myself a writer? No. Do I like to write? Sometimes. Can I write? Let's just say it sounds better in my mind than on paper. Then what is this? This is me being honest and telling a story that needs to be told. And so t will start where I believe is the beginning and leave out all the rainbows and unicorns.
