Sophie's brain had to catch up to what Fitz had said before she could comprehend it. "You love me?" She asked, confused. He had never dropped any hints that he liked her, much less loved her. (A/N: *coughcoughSophieissoobliviouscoughcough*)

Fitz nodded. "I hadn't realized that I had started before I realized that I was in the middle."

"Well. Um. Heh. I'm speechless!"

He looked worried and disappointed. "I know you don't feel the same way. I just ... couldn't hide my feelings any longer."

"Fitz, you are one of the most oblivious elves alive. I've liked you ever since we met in the museum in San Diego." (A/N: Well, that's the pot calling the kettle black)

Fitz's eyes sparkled as he took her hand. "Really?"

"Really."

Fitz kissed her then, and the cold, rocky floor of the prison cell dropped away, leaving only them. When they finally came back to earth, Sophie beamed. "So ... that just happened ...."

He blushed and looked away. "Yeah."

They were quiet for a while, enjoying each others' company, before Sophie broke the silence and said, "We need to break out and rescue our friends."
