I strongly advise and recommend that you have read all the KOTLC books before starting to read this one. (I'll give you one last chance) Well, this story takes place just after Unlocked (volume 8.5) in a world where Keefe would not have gone to the forbidden cities. Adelaide Serena Phoenix belongs to the Ancient family of Phoenix. She is a really popular and beautiful young girl who had manifested as a charger. She became friends with Sophie during Sophie's first detention and by the end of book 2, she and Sophie had count each other as sisters. When Sophie and her friends decided to go with the black swan, Adelaide insisted to follow them. Soon she, along with the rest of the group, were officially members of the black swan.

"The Moonlark project..is a failure?" Mr. Forkle said solemnly. What if the Neverseen find out about project "Moonlark" but don't understand what it is. Using this newfound information, they steal Sophie when she is born, faking her death and move her with new parents in NY. A telepath in NY and a group of friends on a secret joyride to the human cities, conflicting love interests and secrets between the Black Swan and Neverseen!? What could possibly go wrong!?
