Chapter 66.

Alexa's POV

I was kinda dissapointed when I woke up to a white ceiling and the smell of hospital. I regret calling the 911. I should've just died there.

"You were very lucky to survive Ms. Brians. The ambulance got to where you were quickly but they took some time looking for you. You lost A LOT of blood. It's a miracle you survived." The doctor explains. He talks more and more about what was damaged and what was not, but I wasn't paying attention. I tried sitting up, but groaned in pain

"Don't push yourself, Miss. It will hurt since the knife went really deep." He says

The door opened. The doctor turned aroud and talked with the person. It was definitely a male because his voice was low.  The doctor called him Robin and as soon as the man spoke I knew it was my friend, Robin.

"He already knows me Doc" I cut in their conversation. My voice was still weak since I woke up literally 1 hour ago.

"Oh really?" Doc turns around to face me

"Uh huh." I becon him to move a bit so I could see him.

"Hi Robin" I try to smile

"Oh my god...Alex." Robin's eyes were as wide as plates.

"You-You've been here the whole time?" He says

"Whole time? How long was I out for?" I ask

"5 days." The doctor answers

"What happened to you?! We've been looking everywhere for you!!" Robin says. Memories of what happened start flashing in my head. My heart sped up, and my eyes filled with tears. I close my legs tightly and cross my arms over my chest.

"Alex? Alex?? Alex!!!" Robin starts yelling. He shakes me out of the nightmare.

"Are you okay?" He asks in worry

"N-no..." I whisper softly.

"You must rest, Ms Brians. Tomorrow the police wants to interview you about what happened." The doctor says. I nod tiredly. The doctor says goodbye to Robin and leaves the room.

"Alex...oh my god. I have to tell the others!!" He suddenly realizes. My eyes widen.

"No!!" I exclaim. He looks at me in confusion

"What!? Why not?!"

"I...I don't want them to know. I don't want to worry them." I say

"Alex. Are you serious right now? We've been worried about you the minute you stood up and walked away." He looks at me deadpanned

"Just...please Robin. Please. Don't tell them." I beg. He sighs and nods his head.

"But on one condition" he says

"What is it?" I ask

"Give Cole one more chance. Give your relationship one more chance" He says

"...I-I don't know Robin...I don't wanna get hurt again..." I look downat my hands.

"Alex...you know what they say about your first love?" He asks

"You can never forget you first love" I state the saying.

"Yup. Cole was in love with Alyssa,and no matter how hard he tried,he could never forget her. When Alyssa came back, he wanted to experience their love again. Alyssa then started doing some sort of magic trick to make him start falling for her again. But when you left, it was a wake up call for Cole. He realized how much of an idiot he is, how much of a dick he is, and how much he loves you." He tells me

"That's bullshit" I shake my head in disbelief.

"No. It's not. Look, I know we may not be close friends but you have to believe me. Cole really does love you. He NEEDS you. He's been more of a mess than when Alyssa left. You're both hurting,and the only way to heal the pain is talking things out and fixing it between you. Alex...don't you believe in second chances?"

His words struck me like lighting. He was...He was right. I was in a lot of heart ache, and ironically the only thing that could stop this is being in his arms...

No. Stop. Alex,don't think that. He hurt you.

"I believe in second chances...but he already had his second chance. When I forgave him for all the bullying, he got his second chance." I say

"You gave him his second chance in proving that he's not an asshole. You gave him a second chance in being your friend. He's only had his first chance in your relationship. So now, give him a second chance."

This guy...

"I'll think about it..." I say softly. He smiles widely and nods his head.

"Now get some rest. I better get to the kids." He stands up and heads for the door

"Kids?" I look at him in confusion

"I visit the sick kids here. I'm not that much of a cold heartless jerk. I have a soft spot for kids." He explains

"...I always knew you had a heart. I mean you have a heart when it comes to Hailey. How are you both by the way?" I ask

"We're taking it slow, but I'm falling fast." He smiles lightly

"Please take care of her. Make sure she never ever feels this way." I look him in the eyes to show him I'm dead serious.

"I promise. Get some rest, Alex. I'll be visiting you tomorrow." He says

"Thanks Robin..." I smile

I fell asleep, but I couldn't rest. Because instead of having a dreamless sleep, I had a terrifying nightmare.
