I'm not a big fan of Jason Derulo but this song is definitely one of my favs. ❤ I just for some reason always get reminded of Damien and Cadell whenever listening to it. Damien's POV

After THAT little incident, Cadell eventually calmed down enough to talk. He told me parts, but not much because he started to cry in-between words again. I hugged him close and calmed him down every time he tried to cry again. Just me being there seemed to help him, so it was the least I could do.

I was slowly trying to piece together his past. So, he was a human, young too. He was... with others the time an attack happened? And... they were trying to escape. But then they got hunted down and Cadell and the man he was with got separated. I can't think of anything else about that mystery man, he has to be dead. Vampires will kill anything that they think is food.

Cadell ended up falling asleep against me silently without me knowing till I tried to ask him another personal question. Poor guy, he must have cried himself out. It must be hard for him to keep going on like this. Where everyone hates you and your species, and they want to kill you.

I carefully slid his body into my arms as I slowly walked back towards the building. My fingers were looped through the collar just slightly, so that it looked like I had him restrained. If I just walked in casually holding Cadell then everyone would have a fucking fit. Then probably lecture me for the one-hundredth time about 'how to be safe near vampires.'

As I walked through the empty halls, I couldn't help but think about the most random things. Was Cadell gay? Completely gay I meant, he didn't seem to have any interest for females, at least not around the facility. Maybe he had higher up standards? But then again, he's pretty attached to me. I don't know how to break it to him that I'm not gay, unless he already is aware that I'm completely straight.

Thinking back about the past, I couldn't help but feel guilty. I kinda made it clear that I was straight, considering I just screamed it countless times right in front of Cadell's face, and every time he never even seemed to bat an eye or flinch.

I stopped outside the door to his cage room, it had already gone dark outside and he must be tired. But... he's been here a bit long for my liking. I shifted his body in my arms so I could continue to comfortably hold his light weight. I decided on something, then started walking back to my room.

My position as a VEP had moved up a spot in the system, and I was now known as a 'VEP GOLD.' So I was now aloud to have my own room! My girlfriend already congratulated me on getting my own place to have my own time. I already had a bed and some extra things put in my room earlier on in the day when I was with Cadell outside.

I stepped inside, the door automatically locking shut from the inside as it closed. At least here were no cameras in the room, I got all the privacy I wanted. After I got settled inside, I gently laid Cadell down in my bed, tucking him in with the blankets pulled up to his neck.

He snuggled cutely into my pillow as he continued to sleep silently. I had lots of paperwork to do, so I sat down at my desk and started to fill out and sign the large stack in front of me. Hours passed like minutes, and that's when I felt the drowsiness and tiredness of sleep start to attack me, but I fought it as I continued to write and sign things.

Eventually, the clock struck 2AM. The words had started to look like they popped off the page, like a 3D movie or something. My mind was playing tricks on me by now, whether it was shapes or objects moving and floating around me.

I tiredly closed my eyes and let my head fall against my hand, trying to support my now 1000 pound head. Everything felt so heavy now, I just wanted to sleep, but my paperwork had to get done first. It was really important!

Eventually once the clock hit 2:34AM I was practically asleep, I felt my cheek pressing against the cold wood of my desk as my eyelids refused to open. Cinderblocks weighed my body down to stay on my chair, my body completely limp as I let darkness take over my mind and let me fall completely under.

I felt something soft pressing against the back of my head, in fact, everything I was touching on the outside world was soft. It felt so warm, I couldn't tell what any of it was. I stirred awake, blinking a few times to get adjusted to the dim lights peeking in from behind my curtains. It was morning already? Had I dosed off last night?

Glancing around I noticed that I was lying in my bed, the blanket pulled high to keep me warm. When did I move to my bed? Last time I checked, I didn't have a habit of sleepwalking, in fact I didn't do that at all.

Where was Cadell? As soon as the thought of Cadell passed through my mind, I felt something breathing against me, soft and gentle breaths.

I carefully lifted up the soft blanket, revealing a cute sleeping vampire laying against me with his eyes closed lightly. His hands were slightly covering his eyes in the position he was in, it looked cute surprisingly. His eyes never seemed to twitch or stir as he continued to sleep quietly. Poor thing must not be used to being out of his cage often, it must be overwhelming, or maybe it's just him being tired.

The small thought made me laugh silently to myself. I was so glad it was silent, I didn't want to wake him up. Cute little thing.

I gently leaned forward, trying to keep my body as still as possible in attempt to not startle or wake the little demon. I gently pressed my lips to his forehead, not bothering to question myself to  why I did that.

Who cares anyways.

And then I let myself fall back under into a well deserved rest, my hand gently resting in Cadell's soft black hair, a few strands of dark red tangling around my fingers.
