Falling for You

Part 8

"I like you a lot", Harvey said as he drove. I looked at his face to see if he was kidding around with me but he was serious.

"What are you trying to say", I asked.

"I'm trying to say that I want you to be my girlfriend". What the hell. He first, says he likes me, then he kisses me, now he wants a relationship. I wondered if this was going too fast but what do I know about relationships. I didn't know how to respond. I liked Harvey, but I didn't like him the way he liked me.

"Look Harvey, I just don't really the same way. I like you better as a friend", I said looking at him with an apologetic tone.

"Well I'm sorry you feel that way. But you have no choice". Wait a second. I don't have a choice! I looked at him but his eyes were on the road.

"What do you mean I have no choice", I shouted.

"Do you not understand English. You have to by my girlfriend. End of story". Is he serious right now. What the fuck!

"I don't want to be your girlfriend Harvey. I'm sorry but deal with it", I said. He finally looked at me. His eyes showed anger. "You are going to be my girlfriend and that's final", he said as he parked his car at the building. I quickly got out and ran into the building.

"Hey Blair, how have you been", Isla said as I entered. Ugh, I don't feel like talking to her. I make up some lame excuse and avoid her. I go to the elevator and the doors close immediately. I press the 60th floor button and realize this is the first time I am actually alone in the elevator. I sit on the floor and think about what just happened. Harvey wants a relationship. He likes me. Ugh, what do I do. I don't know how to deal with a problem like this.

The elevator took me to the 60th floor. Everyone was there and was working. Now that I think about it, this is the first time that I'm not here early. I walk to my seat. The girl that seats in front of me was not here. Thank god, she always gives me nasty looks. I started to settle down and got to beginning my work.

It was lunch time. I went down to the cafeteria and got a sandwich. I sat down in the back and ate my lunch while working on a new assignment. Then, the weirdest thing caught my eye. Holly. She was in the lobby with a guy in a suit. Hell no. Is she going to sue the company? I quickly finished my sandwich and raced down the cafeteria to get to her. She was on the elevator. I had to make it. As the door was closing, I stuck my hand in between the doors and got in. Holly was surprised to see me.

"Oh my god, Blair, you are still working here?", she asked hugging me.

"Yes, I am. I was just eating lunch when I noticed you walk in. Are they rehiring you", I asked.

"No, I am here to sue the company", she said. Damn it. She can't sue the company. She is going to put her self in a position she will not be able to come out of later.

"What? Isn't it a little rash? I mean you could just ask for a job in a different department".

"No Blair, this company does not treat their employees right. I want to put a stop to this. I am going to have a meeting with the head of the company right now and I will try to get the respect that I deserve", she said in a serious voice. Dang it. What if Nathan sees her here. What will happen? What will he do? I was busy thinking about the consequences when the elevator doors opened. Holly and her lawyer walked out and I was about to when I saw the number of the floor. 61th floor. Shit. I am not allowed up here.

"Holly, I just realized I should get back to work. I'll see you around ok", I said. I was about to press the 60th floor when she pulled me out. Fuck. What am I going to do now?

"Blair, what wrong?", Holly asked.
"Holly, no employees are allowed on this floor. I can't be here".
"I'm going to say your with me ok", she said taking my hand and walking. I couldn't argue with her now. I started walking along with her. The 61st floor was uniquely different than the other floors. The design and layout was organized and there were giant windows giving you a beautiful view of the city. To be honest, the floor was normal. I just did not understand why Harvey and Nathan did not want me up here. I got the courage to start walking side by side with Holly. Something about her had changed though. She was more tough and fearless than last time. She looked stronger and she didn't care about what would happen next. I looked around and holy shit. It was Nathan walking down the hall. He was reading some papers while walking our way. He can't see me oh wait, he can't see Holly. I hid behind her and whispered in her ear,"Someone is coming". She looked ahead and her face turned pale. She clearly knew who that was. Nathan. The BASTARD that kicked her out. She stopped walking and whispered something to her lawyer. He then walked towards Nathan and then Holly took my hand and dragged me to an ear powder room.
"That was close". I said as I washed my face.
"Yeah, I am in no mood of meeting him",she said while she fixed her hair. She then got a text from her lawyer saying he was in the conference room and the coast was clear. We slowly walked out and headed towards the conference room. And then it happened.
"What the fuck are you doing up here", Nathan shouted from behind.
